Default Yves Saint Laurent Jazz (Current) Your Thoughts?

How do you feel about the current available Jazz in the clear bottle with black top? Iím thinking of adding it to my wardrobe along with another back up bottle of Rive Gauche Pour Homme. Any feedback greatly appreciated especially smell and performance hoping itís still worth a fb purchase.

To me it was close enough to the previous version I own that I couldn't notice a difference. ( though I didn't try them side by side.)

My experience is with the previous version. It's a nice futuristic fougere. Sillage is close, duration is adequate. You'd probably like it if you like Tsar (you need to add this as well). I miss Jazz. Curiously, I tried Jazz Prestige which everyone raves about, and I found that I prefer Jazz.

It has a nice airy quality to it, has aged very well, and the name is so appropriate! Like a chord progression or a solo that doesn't imply any obvious tonal centre, you have quite a bit of notes going in and out. It's a clever scent.

    I think it's fine.

I have the one in the clear rectangular bottle with the black top, not the new-new version in the cube bottle (part of YSL's re-issue line). But it's very nice, classic, well-groomed but not fussy.

I did already have Cartier Pasha, however, and I've since added Tsar, and I find these three very similar. Pasha has more sandalwood in the base and more mint up top, and Tsar is like Jazz with more of a pine vibe. But I feel the three are redundant in my collection, and my preference goes to Pasha for its sandalwood dry-down. All are very good, though.

I have a full original Jazz in the plastic piano keys bottle that I never wear but it smells nice. I smelled the new version and it still smells relatively the same.

If you like Pasha de Cartier, then Yves Saint Laurent Jazz is really just a more lavender-focused precursor with a hint more spice. They're not the same, but Jazz is a bit more conservative than Pasha and really nice. I wouldn't pay a fortune for deep vintage in the bizarro built-in sprayer bottle, but I'd get my hands on some nonetheless.

Personally I thought it was awful. I loved the original but this newer version smelt like pisswater to my nose. Rive Gauche still smells awesome. In fact I might actually prefer it to the original tin can version.

I'm always forgetting this, and when I sample I really like it very much. Remember it as complex/spicy/green/woody/fresh.
