Those five have been getting the highest rotation as of late. TdH is my all time favorite. The rose in Declaration is nice here in Sacramento where there are tons of roses in bloom now.

Do enjoy rose in general? One fragrance that would be worth trying is Chanel Egoiste. It has a good amount of rose, in addition to sandalwood, spice, and tobacco. Very good stuff.

I've only recently started trying out rose fragrances, but I do like them so far - different from other floral scents I've tried. I will definitely have to try Egoiste - I have seen you and others post about it often, so I know it's a well-loved frag. Thanks for the recommendation!

    I actually LOL'd at this.

I have attempted many, many times to join in on the ranking fun with my collection, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to narrow it down. I like many fragrances for many reasons, and I find it impossible to leave certain things out of any "Top X" type of list.

My top 5 that I do not necessarily own:

    by Kilian - Dark Lord
by Kilian - Straight to Heaven (own)
Hermes - Terre d'Hermes Perfume (own)
    Creed - Silver Mountain Water
Bond No 9 - New York Oud

Subject to change rather quickly as I discover more and more.

I, too, have been impressed with Givenchy Gentleman. I keep coming back to try it every time I see it in a store. Sometimes it is too sweet and floral for me; other times it seems to work perfectly. I might have to just go for it if I find a good price...

Givenchy is a house with serious pedigree, historically. I think they can still do good work - and I need to spend more time with their current stuff - but these older versions of Givenchy Gentleman are what I have:

    Gentlemen.jpg

It came as a recommendation from Purecaramel. I started with a wraparound label mini, and now I'm up to three bottles, about 250 ml - a sufficient lifetime supply to spread the word that wraparound label is good stuff.

I agree. A bit unrelated, but Givenchy is my favorite brand in terms of fashion. Where did you acquire the vintage bottles? I hear that they are quite different from the modern ones.

Ebay, more than likely. Sometimes I get stuff from Etsy. Those are may main two places. Basenotes marketplace can have good stuff, too. It's my third most likely.

I paid decent money, around $170 per 100-ml bottle. As soon as I was stocked up, I started seeing it go for a little less that, following new listings.
