    Default Orchid accord

I just purchased a dwarf phalaenopsis orchid from the CVS pharmacy near my house in upstate Delaware. It had a scent, which is very unusual for hybridized orchids. The flowers were speckled purple. I wonder if it was a cattleya hybrid, but I don't know if that is possible.

If you want to smell a real orchid accord, this is a rare opportunity to smell something that hasn't had all the beauty bred out of it.

I'm curious, does it smell like chocolate? That seems to be a common scent in most scented orchids.

NOT that I am an orchid expert....
But, I have gone to some effort to smell orchids, and discern scents from them. I have only noticed a few orchids that went towards chocolate... maybe only one or two.

Well, clearly I am no expert haha. I read a book a long time ago and it listed a few fragrant ones that smelled of chocolate, but surely it wasn't a comprehensive list of fragrant varieties.

What do they smell like though? Anything similar to common floral aromas?
