Default New Diptyque fragrance Eau de Minthe

Just heard Diptyque will be launching a new EdP in the next couple of months. Eau de Minte will have a more masculine style and have notes of green tea, oak, coumarin and spearmint, meant to smell like an almost barber shop fresh scent.

Thank you for the info. Sure blind buy for me when it becomes available.

Anything with mint in the title has my attention. I love how Diptyque does fragrances. they are niche and different but also very wearable, and everything I Have tried (on skin, not paper) from the house has been a winner, with Eau Duelle being my favorite.

I don't think they have done mint in a fragrance before? This should be great!

Sounds wonderful! Quite agreed; anything with mint in its name is something I invariably feel the need to try out.

I will definitely check it out. Love Diptyque
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

Wow this sounds exciting. I love spearmint. One of my fav releases (though others disagree) is Acqua di Parma Colonia Club, which features the note.

Ah okay so its Eau de Minthé (with the h in the name - which the OP missed). A review of it popped up on Now Smell This today: https://nstperfume.com/2019/04/24/di...grance-review/

If I'd been presented with Diptyque's new Eau de Minthé in an unmarked vial, after the first sniff I'd have bet it was a vintage fougère perfume from the 1960s or 1970s. Eau de Minthé is hairy from eyebrows to toes, and brimming with testosterone.

Eau de Minthé goes on with a blast of bergamot mixing with peppery greens (geranium leaf is noticeable, too). As Eau de Minthé skids into mid-development I get scented hints of rose water, green tea(?), "chewing-gum" spearmint and Life Savers® wintergreen candy...

Yes the only 'powerful butch' mint I can think of is Geranium Pour Monsieur which I cannot stand because of the funky geranium note.

We have a Diptyque store here in Miami so I need to head over there and check it out.

Agreed...I'm excited to smell Diptyque's take on mint. Love the house style and it could lend itself well to this kind of scent.

I tried this today at Barneys. Not a mint fan abut this one does not have too much of it. Mint shows up later in mid phase and for a short while. The development is interesting. I also smell 90s style calone and patch here in the drydown.
This one has promise and will need to wear it again to see if it is FBW.

I'm really excited for the release of Eau de Minthé but the 90's style calone mentioned is a major turn off.

    Sounds....okay?

The patch note you speak of worries me. There's nothing I like less than a good old hippie patch note funking up a clean scent.

But I'm still very curious about it. Good to know it's out there. Thanks for your impressions!

Sounds boring tbh. We need more mint heavy frags, for all the mint lovers out there.

Got a sample and tried a good wearing today as well. It's Diptyque's take on a fougere and I'm liking it so far. You get a good dose of mint right from the initial blast, then it starts settling into the "Diptyque DNA." Geranium become a bit prominent at the 15-20 minute mark and the patchouli (similar to Tempo) then takes over.

I'll have to see how it dries down, but definitely not what I'm expecting from a fougere. I am slated to pick up Fougere Nobile, but wanted to give this one a chance first. I will probably still be purchasing Fougere Nobile before this one unless it changes my mind this weekend with more wearings.
