Default Question about making hyraceum tincture

I recently purchased some raw hyraceum to make a tincture. The one thing I'm unsure of is how long do I tincture it? I can't seem to find that info anywhere, including here. Please help me!

I ground it to a fine powder and tinctured it for 6 months at 20% in 95% USP grade ethanol (wt./wt.). The tincturing bottle was kept out where I would shake it a few times a day over that period of time. At the end of 6 months, I filtered it and had a clear, yellow-caramel colored liquid.

Dare I speak it to this one? LOL! Or should I keep my mouth shut?

Thank you. I figured 6 months would be the case, since a lot of tinctures seem to be about the same, but I wasn't totally sure.

Looks like I already got an answer, so unless you have something to add I suppose keeping your mouth shut would be okay. ❤

I looked for my previous post in this regard, but could not easily find it. Very busy today, perhaps I can comment later. But my comment leads to a somewhat dangerous technique, but the results cost only one day, instead of six months.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I bookmarked it at the time. =) That was: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/322...=1#post4529247

That's a close start. My Hyraceum technique is to weigh each, material and alcohol, and boil the solution in a very sturdy glass and tightly sealed container, then let cool, left undisturbed in the microwave for one hour, then release the seal, and boil again, and leave undisturbed in the microwave, again, for one hour, and release the seal again, then strain. This tincture/hot alcohol extraction is really strong.
