I signed up for Scentbox and my first decant purchased was SL Datura Noir. I’ve thought about a full bottle of this for quite awhile ... the decant should help me make up my mind.
    I've trademarked the color bleu

Bought the 15 ml travel spray today from one of my favorite sellers on a fashion buy/sell platform. It was a blind buy, but I've been wanting to try this (along with sur le Toit), and it was a great deal.

Congrats and enjoy in good health. I use to own that one a long time ago. Will you be trying the rest of the Jardin collection?

Yes! I’ve actually JUST spent the last hour+ reading reviews of the other Jardin fragrances and adding them to my wishlist. They all sound fascinating and just the right amount of unconventional... I hope.

I bought myself a Tubereuse Criminelle bell jar and 15ml to put in it. I expect 15ml will last me quite a while...but the thing about a bell jar is that I can refill it...

Vol de Nuit is also quite wonderful. I was fortunate enough to smell a vintage formulation of the parfum concentration. I must say that I enjoy Vol de Nuit slightly more than Mitsouko now. As a guy, I feel more comfortable wearing this. I like this enough to want to own a vintage bottle, its really good.

Found in a thrift store, Chanel Sycomore edp. Looks like about 40 ml in the (75ml) bottle. This is the first time I had a chance to compare the edp with the edt. In a nutshell, the edt had more of a complex ”foresty” aura evoking to my imagination cold northern forests sparkling at night, while the edp seems like a straight-up vetiver scent. Still very nice as I like vetiver a lot.

Congrats on this wonderful find Which is your preference? For me I have to go with the EDT. Like you there's a bit more complexity magic going on with the EDT. I also prefer original releases.

Thanks rynegne and N.CAL! It was quite a surprise to see a Chanel Exclusif sitting there.

N.CAL, objectively speaking I agree the edt has a magical quality and, objectively, I like it better. However I’m wondering if the edp, smelling a bit more low-key, might prove easier to wear.

In terms of wearability personally I find them about the same. A dry green vetiver is a bit more difficult to wear as oppose to a fresh soapy vetiver. It boils down to what I would reach for more.

Have you tried Dior Vetiver and Guerlain Vetiver? I enjoy these a lot too.

So you find the edt and edp different enough to warrant having both?

Never tried Dior but a long history with Guerlain. I havenít tried the current version but I used to find it mesmerizing. My dad wore it beautifully and I have worn it myself at various times. I still have some from the 1980s.

Only the EDT, I prefer original releases and formulations if available.

Dior Vetiver is much smoother and refined compared to Sycomore EDT. In fact on Fragrantica, only two notes are listed: vetiver and coffee. Definitely worth trying.

I'm sure your dad enjoyed the quality of that vintage Guerlain Vetiver, much better and higher quality ingredients back then for sure. I haven't smelled an earlier formulation. That's something on my list to try. What concentration have you tried and own?

I just blind-bought Black Perfecto EdP last month and I'm in love. A rose in a leather jacket? Yes, please. Enjoy!

Without digging in the closet, edt, I think. Will see if the Dior is available here. Sounds interesting. Thanks.
