Default Special for Gentlemen by Le Galion

I bought a 5ml decant from strifeknot of Special for Gentlemen by Le Galion.
    Luca Turin's review intrigued me.

    " ****citrus lavender
Utterly impeccable, properly groomed classic fougere revived from the peak period of that particular style. If you're looking (no matter if you are a man or a woman) for a fragrance that radiates good manners and high quality all around you, without being any way obtrusive, this is it. LT"

Head notes | Bergamot, Citrus, Lavender, Galbanum
Heart notes | Cinammon, Amber, Cistus Labdanum, Patchouli
Base notes | Oak Moss, Vanilla, Castoreum, Opoponax

    Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was more than pleasantly pleased when I first sprayed my decant.
I immediately sent some more money to strifeknot requesting 15ml more.

An absolute bargain priced fabulous scent. If LT's review appeals to you, you won't be disappointed.
One slight drawback is that's longevity is a little short, but you can afford to re-spray at this price.

Own a bottle and love it.

    Yes, love it, too.
Very clearly a case for corn flakes and classics

Yes. It’s one of the house’s better ones though I’m not quite sure why this house doesn’t get more pages on BN. Btw aren’t you glad we have splitters like strifeknot?

It oozes with class and elegance.
Rare, vintage, and niche off-site sales.
    Big list of niche splits.

I think it's mostly due to its limited distribution in the US. I think Twisted Lily is the only stockist, and they seem to have trouble keeping them in stock. But yes: fantastic house putting out some great scents. Sang Bleu and Cologne are also fantastic!

I don't recall it as being cheap.
I tried it, liked it, but as you say not long lasting enough for me.

But talking about Galion masculines, I got Sang Bleu which is like a more presentable Kouros.

This is still another nice one from the house IMO. Glad you found it appealing.

Absolutely fantastic smelling fragrance, but the performance just wasn't good enough for me. If it performs well for you, consider yourself lucky as this is a real gem.

One of the best lavender fragrances I've ever smelled hands down, but it also has a lot more going on besides lavender.

Another House that has sort of reinvented themselves

Some work better than others imo but every man should try Eau Noble, which is exquisite

Just to be clear, I said a "bargain", not "cheap"
cheap - at or a low price
bargain - (good) value for the money

I picked up a partial bottle of SfG last year and I really enjoy it. Eau Noble is another one I've been eyeing.
