Exclamation Parfum Sacre - A Modern Masterpiece !

I revisited this recently and had forgotten how stunning it is.
I'm not sure how this has been affected by reformulations... any comments ?

To me it's one of a handful of relatively modern creations that feels as if it was created much earlier. Other examples for me are L'Instant, Insolence and le Baiser du Dragon.
    Interested to hear your views.

Oy vey, I had SO MUCH trouble figuring out which version of Parfum Sacre to go for when I decided I had to have a bottle!

I got a lot of excellent advice from other Basenoters in this thread:

I have the Parfum Sacre Intense. It's a fine, modern oriental.

I very much agree with its grand, timeless nature. I have the golden fan bottle and purple pimply/sharkskin bottle and there's noticeable difference between these two to my nose. The golden fan bottle feels more mellow with its enveloping powdery rose and creamy resins, and just the right amount of pepper to make it more lively, kind of similar to how the aldehyde adds more zest to the soothing vanillic powdery floral of Kenzo Flower, but in Parfum Sacré's case, it's warm in tone, in contrary to the cooler tonality of Kenzo Flower. The purple sharkskin bottle feels more woody spicy to my nose, thus appearing more unisex too. Both are great in my opinion.

Wow ! Thanks for the link. This is an excellent thread with wonderful photo's.
I only have experience with the black and gold box edp and the cylindrical purple flacons. I find all of these to be heavenly.

I wound up going for the fan bottle that everybody recommended, but now I'm thinking I need the purple sharkskin too. I might like it a little woodier. And with Caron circling the drain, it might be a good time to stock up on some Parfum Sacre.

Add me to the list of people who love Parfum Sacre. This thread reminded me to wear it again, while the weather is still cool. (I don't wear it in the summer.)

I also have #2, the vintage EDP in the fan bottle. I haven't tried any of the others.

I see Caron is still selling Parfum Sacre on their website here:

    https://www.parfumscaron.com/en/1712...fum-sacre.html

Has anyone tried the current? Just curious.

In yet another bottle -- the old Fleurs de Rocaille flacon!

I'd love to hear reports on it, too, Grayspoole. But given the state of the other Caron feminines, I don't feel very hopeful.

Agree! I have the purple fragrance amulet, and the 30 ml fake "stingray" (galuchat) bottle. Lovely and resinous!

Another Parfum Sacré fan here. I tend to reach for it more in cold weather and especially around the holidays. Something about it as with most other Carons that suggests wintry festivities. But I sometimes find myself craving it in warmer weather when it blooms wonderfully in the heat. I have the peppercorn bottle and hope always to have this exalted beauty in my collection. And yes, it’s always a jolt to realize the year it was released, it feels of a much earlier era.
