Default At Heathrow - which Tom Ford should I get?

I own and enjoy Patchouli Absolu, Oud Minerale, Neroli Portofino, Verte des Bois and want something masculine and with good longevity and sillage - good for spring too.

I just sampled Fougere D’Argent and liked it but didn’t go crazy for it.

    Thoughts?

I'd say get whichever one you liked most. If none float your boat, don't get anything.

Perhaps worth trying Oud Wood Intense, if available?

Vert de bois is one of my favorites

    Noir Anthracite

An interesting masculine from Tom Ford, for a change. Which means it'll probably be discontinued soon.
    Most worn:

Black Comme des Garçons, Borneo 1834 Serge Lutens, Patchouli Santa Maria Novella

+1 Oud Wood Intense, nice and animalic.

Ombre Leather is a recent favourite of mine, and since it's not part of the Private series, it won't hit the wallet too hard.

The rest of the Vert series may be worth having a ponder about too, if available. Also, a lot of the people on this forum have gone gaga about Lost Cherry, but masculine, it ain't.

I wouldn't be surprised. I don't think it ever really caught on. It's very good, though.

Heathrow's range of TF PBs isn't bad, but in my opinion they are only good for sampling there. I think they recently increased prices on Amouage. Not sure about TF prices, but definitely check/compare prices before you buy.

My thoughts precisely. Close, but no cigar.

I didn't fall in love with Fougere d'Argent until after I got to spend some quality time with it. Now I think it's one of the best current TF PBs.

This, I almost never buy a thing in "Duty Free" anymore since you can often get better deals online. I now use duty free as a place to sample and/or use it to wear something I don't have on a flight - don't judge me...

    Sound advice.
Remember that while it is perfectly acceptable to criticize the content of a post - criticizing the poster is not.

Did you try the other one, Fougere Platine? Personally I thought that one was more masculine.

I would recommend Amber Absolute, just go lighter on the application for the spring and you should be okay.

Hah, I do this as well. The exception for me is, I do buy Chanel fragrances duty free if the price is right and if there is a duty free exclusive I might grab it.

Yes, I do this too. At Heathrow, using the Heathrow Rewards points scheme combined with the (slight) discount you get is actually quite a good deal.
