    Default 70's and 80's Chronological Sync - 10 Fragrances in 10 Days

Starting Saturday, I'm planning 10 days of wearing chronological releases from 1973 to 1988. Feel free to join on any of the days and/or share your experiences with these.

    Default 70's and 80's Chronological Sync - 10 Fragrances in 10 Days

I’m down with, and can join in on, those glorious 10 days.

Edit: I’ll have to confirm but I think I should have a decant of Boss No1. That may have to be a substitute day for me.

Anything from 1984 to 86 would keep you in sync.

I'll gladly join in on the Yatagan and Jules days! And maybe the Bel Ami... if I can manage to avoid the Camel hooves.

Purecaramel loves a Bel Ami sync.

Brilliant selections with Yatagan and Jules. I respect them even more knowing they're worthy of Cook.bot wearings!

    Awww, you're too sweet.

I adore Yatagan, but pretty much restrict it to home wearings. Out in public, I get tired of people trying to look over my shoulder to see if a man is hiding behind me.

I still really want to try Yatagan though. I've sampled/written about Bel Ami, just no bottle.

I tend to stay in when I'm wearing feminine fragrances.

Yatagan is worth a sniff. Are you considering a bottle of Bel Ami, or did it not make the cut?

Versace L'Homme is well done, nice and rich. Bel Ami is the only one from the list that kept in favor? Did you finish and not replenish some of the others, or actually move them on?

But this one's resilient, so not even the slightest worry, especially with this double down, which I applaud. '73 to '82 looks like a sweet spot in your collection. By 1988, things started smelling more modern with Fahrenheit and IsoESuper.

I have been wanting to try Versace L’Homme for some time now. Was never able to finish any except Bel Ami, for a long time I only wore Bel Ami but now it doesn’t get much wear due to my preference for other fragrances and I also have limited quantity of it left with me. I do miss Givenchy Gentleman and Antaeus whenever I smell them on others.

Ok, so as an update, I will be not perfectly in sync on 2 days. Here’s how it will go for me:
    1. PRPH
    2. Givenchy Gentlemen
    3. Gucci Pour Homme (‘76)
    4. Polo
    5. Jules
    6. Antaeus
    7. Versace L’Homme
    8. Antaeus Sport (‘85)
    9. Bel Ami
    10. Fahrenheit

My current plan is to wear each of them as a SOTD, and then switch things up for the evening. But as I am so in the moment with wearings, this may change. However I will make sure to be in sync with year of release.

    1973

Paco Rabanne Pour Homme was released in 1973. The bottle I have is what I believe is the second edition:

    0AC30020-B4A4-4A74-86A0-198625030B92.jpg

This was part of a lot of full, 100-ml testers that were sold for around $40 each a few years ago.

It's warm and soapy, plus a tiny bit sharp, bracing.

Sounds like a fun endeavor to be sure, a classic Bavard endeavor.

I have either bottles or samples (mostly samples) of all except the Boss and Polo, but will be offshore and mainly unscented next week. I'll go a little hog-wild next weekend and join in the fun towards the end. I think I'd substitute Esenca Loewe for the missing Polo and Kouros Fraicheur for the missing Boss. I've never smelled the Boss but for some reason I have it being compared to Kouros in my head. Maybe not in scent, but another 'challenging' animalic?
