Lightbulb Do you collect any fragrance houses?

I have around 3-5 fragrances from many different houses, but I do not seek out to collect any specific house.

I know some people may have every fragrance from a particular brand.

Do you collect from any house? Which ones?

Not every fragrance from a particular house, but I have more Bond No.9 bottles than any other house.

No, but I have tested every fragrance from Serge Lutens and Dior and will have purchased a high ratio of them unlike other Houses from whom I have never bought any

    What a 'clunky' sentence !

No. I just get the fragrance I like. I am not loyal to any fragrance house especially in this day and age with so many lousy releases.

Only house I truly collect is Slumberhouse.

The next would probably be Bruno Fazzolari.

Lutens and Dior are two of my favourite houses as well, though I can't say that I have tested every single release. Lutens is by far most prolific in my wardrobe (13 bottles).

    kind of works that way.

    Bruno Fazzolari
    Hiram Green
    Rogue Perfumery
    January Scent Project
    Mad Hat Scents
    Bortnikoff
    Areej le Dore

    getting to collect:

    Sultan Pasha
    Slumberhouse (early stages)
    Pryn

and probably some others that I'm not thinking of right now

    Slumberhouse

And I want to collect Areej le Dore but I'm waaaay late to the party.

To truly "collect" a house requires a pretty serious mix of trust, tolerance, and commitment. It means buying everything that's released for better or worse. With Slumberhouse, I know that if it doesn't end up being a scent that I can wear a lot, at least it will be something I find very interesting and fun to wear around the house, and from a perfumer for whom I have nothing but respect and admiration.

Me neither. It boils down to there being no houses with a 100% "hit rate" for me, and I'm not going to buy something I don't really like just to complete a set. Nothing against who enjoy that approach, but it ain't me!

There houses where I try to collect a sample of everything they release.

Also I don't have the urge to buy every perfume from houses I like, just the perfumes I fall in love with after reading notes + testing. The only downside is cringing a little and regretting not getting another bottle when you see the levels drop for one you really love, especially from limited releases (not the cynically limited, that is a personal purchase turn-off).

I'd say I focus on a few particular brands and buy most of their offerings but the only house I truly buy all fragrances from is Olfactive Studios.

I own five fragrances from each of four different houses.

Creed, so that's a drop in the bucket...can't be considered collecting the house.
    Same with Tom Ford

    Closer to collecting:
SIXTEEN92 - I follow this house religiously and try all her new collections, which seem to be released quarterly.
Imaginary Authors - Five is actually a pretty decent dent in how many they have released. Certainly not all, but I would try anything new they release and buy it if I like it.

I don't make it a point to collect from a certain house if some of their scents are bad.

But I like quite a bit of John Varvatos' releases, and even the ones I'm not crazy about I still find interesting.
John Varvatos Artisan Acqua and John Varvatos Vintage are my two favorites.
I'll probably snag Artisan and Dark Rebel, just because their really unique. It helps that they all have a distinct but uniform shape, so that always looks good on my dresser.

I don't own any Ralph Lauren fragrances, but I like quite a few: Polo Black, Polo, and Polo Explorer. If I had money to burn I'd get the last two as I like them, but they don't quite fit my style.

I also like the bottle design of the Gucci Guilty line.
I already have Absolute. I'd like to have Guilty Black, and maybe even regular Guilty just to have a generic crowd pleaser.

I suppose, if there's some general uniformity in their bottle designs, and yet the fragrances are very distinct from one another, that helps to tempt the collector in me.

The person I immediately thought of when I read this question lol.

personally, I do not. Some have a very high success rate with me however, so I have a high percentage of their offerings.

The ones I am closest to being a collector of are:

    Creed
    by Kilian
    Stéphane Humbert Lucas
    Kenneth Cole

but there are too many misses out there from everyone, and I have no personal association with any of them so I see no need to be a house collector.
    Current Winter Favorites:

    1. House of Matriarch - Blackbird
    2. Brückner - Aoud 1
    3. Armani Privé - Oud Royal
    4. Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 - Generation Man
    5. Creed - Royal Oud
    6. by Kilian - Straight to Heaven
    7. Stéphane Humbert Lucas 777 - Mortal Skin
    8. Creed - Royal English Leather
    9. Ormonde Jayne - Black Gold

Not a collector, but I have FBs of several Etro frags, and samples of others - something in the house base really appeals, and their use of aromatics such as wormwood, and artemisia. I've also owned/sampled/tried many of Penhaligon's past offerings over the years, though less keen on recent releases, and appalled by the reformulations of their classics.
March has been cold, rainy and windy : Hermes Equipage, Bel Ami, Bel Ami Vetiver; Dior Fahrenheit, Jacomo Jacomo de Jacomo, Gucci Guilty Absolute pour Homme; Knize Knize Ten, Etro Gomma.
