Default Summer is almost upon us!!

The season is changing. Spring is here, and I feel like I need a summer fragrance on deck. It gets very humid in my neck of the woods. I'm picturing myself taking my kids to a 4th of July parade, sweating like a fat walrus. Summer fresh. Yes, I used the search bar. My picks so far:

    Mugler Cologne
    Leau de Issey
    TdH Eau Fraiche
    Grey Vetiver edt/edp
    Eau Sauvage edt
    Habit Rouge edt
    Dior Homme edt
    Fahrenheit aqua
    CK One

Anybody have any other suggestions? I feel like more vetiver would balance out the sticky wet sweaty moisture, as opposed to the soapy clean flavors. I already own, which I have seen recommended:

    ADG
    ADG Profumo
    Fahrenheit

Well, -2 C here too, or 28F but it is such a change from the deep freeze I'm not even wearing a coat. Big change from 30 below F to 40 above. We are 70 degrees higher up!

Default Summer is almost upon us!!

OP, many of my first pass suggestions are already present on your list. Some others that may warrant consideration:

Sisley’s Eau de Campagne (deliciously green, although some may object to such an abundance of “greenness”)
JPG’s Fleur de Mal (one of my fave male florals; sadly discontinued, but worth tracking down)
Fredrick Malle’s Vetiver Extraordinaire (a bit warmer than Grey Vetiver, but still brighter and cleaner in profile than other well-known and much discussed Vetivers)
Hermès’ Voyage d’Hermes Parfum (woods-based but joyfully clean and bright opening)
Jil Sander’s Sander for Men (as I posted recently, one of my two go-to bargain fragrances; the ivy note cleans up the woods and spice)
Michael Jordan EDT (my other gym fragrance; grassy with a touch of fruit; easy to throw on for a pleasant general freshness that doesn’t overpower)
AdP Colonia (because it reminds me of being on the beach in San Remo as a college student, yet it’s utterly appropriate for any time or place)

I prefer Eau Sauvage Extreme over the EDT. Fresh minty lavender goodness. Great performance too. And while I'm thinking of those notes, Carven L'Eau Intense too.

Dior Homme Cologne is an obvious addition, and I would add Homme Eau for Men which I'm really starting to appreciate recently but think you said elsewhere you couldn't stand it - nothing outstanding but a really good workhorse with great performance..

Fahrenheit Cologne is one I really appreciate every time I wear it, which isn't as often as I should. I'm a fan of Aqua Fahrenheit too, as listed, and don't see that creating any redundancy. Agree with the original on the list too.

Kouros and Declaration shine in the heat on me (and Declaration l'Eau is a grapefruit-inflected fresh flanker), and Chanel's Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme is a different beast in the heat. And I would take Habit Rouge l'Eau over the EDT anyday in general and not just in the summer.

Lush's Dirty is a good one in both perfume and body spray, as is Dad's Lemon Tree body spray

Edit: and adding Voyage d'Hermes as above, but I would take the EDT over the parfum on a hot day by a country mile.

AdP Colonia, Colonia Intensa, Essenza, Assoluta would all be good options.

I really like Byredo Pulp for hot humid days but it can be a little much for some people with the overripe fruits and the humidity i think.

+1 Guerlain Homme L'Eau Boisee, and +1 I'd also choose Guerlain Habit Rouge L'Eau over the EdT for summer wear.
While you're at a Guerlain counter, why not sample the original Guerlain Vetiver ? Is one of my summer staples for both smart and casual wear.

I love in the deep south where 100°f + 100% humidity days aren’t uncommon. I feel like I’ve tried a million summer citrus scents, and the only ones I use now are: Aventus, various Acqua Di Parma fragrances, and eau suavage edt.

That said, I’m done searching & buying citrus frags, gonna make my own this summer.
Relatively easy to make, ingredients are cheap and I can make it extremely concentrated. Plus, I can use top of the line ingredients(like absolutes, Co2 extracts, pure concentrates, etc) that you wont find in most fragrances.
And I can make it with ingredients that are restricted in retail fragrances too- like oakmoss, birch tar, ambergris, etc.

    My go-to Summer Cheapie list:

Huge +1 for Carven L'eau Intense. Absolute steal for the price. Great performance. Minty fresh "barbershop" lavender.

Also a big fan of Lalique White. Pretty safe blind buy and can be found for around $20 for a tester. Very unique tamarind note with cedar.

Eau de Rochas Homme is a recent discovery for me that will be getting a lot of use this Summer. Current version is great and cheap.

Carven Le Vetiver EDP is also a great cheapie. I like to think of it as a "barbershop" vetiver.

EDIT: almost forgot R by Revillon. You can get a huge 200ml bottle of this stuff for around $20. The notes say violet, spices, "woodsy" notes and leather. I don't get much of that. It's more like a stripped down, basic version of Prada Amber Pour Homme to me. Very barbershop in feel, but with freshness. Performs decently, lasting about 3-4 hours with some projection.

On the pricier but affordable side:

Prada Amber Pour Homme--mainly for less humid summer days/nights. Testers around $40-$50

+1 AdP Colonia Essenza Testers around $70 plus. I would recommend the vintage version, but I have no idea how to identify Acqua di Parma batch codes, and I don't think the presentation has changed in any way, so I couldn't tell you how to find a vintage. The current version is fine, but it's heavily focused on lavender, unlike the original which was neroli/floral centric.

Maitre Parfumer et Gantier Pour le Jeune Homme--outstanding neroli with above average performance. Lasts 4 hours + on my dry skin, which eats most fragrances alive. This and the Extravagante version can still be found in the red bottles for around $50 to $60 occasionally on eBay. The Extravagante version is basically the same to my nose.

I cant wait for 95 degree days. I've got Dior Homme Cologne, Elixer White, Sung Homme, Man Eau Fraiche, Tommy Cologne, Pineapple Vintage Intense, Keneth Cole Blue, Leau Bleue Eau fraiche, Mugler Cologne and others waiting in line. Acqua essenziale Colonia is on my list along with Aqua Farenheit to get before it gets hot.

These are a few choices you might not have considered yet that work well in that hot, 4th of July kind of climate:

Sean John I Am King: Tart/Fresh unique fruity opening with cool aquatic fruity dry down, not heavy at all

Chanel Eau de Cologne: Juicy, vibrant, realistic neroli and soft, white florals, incredibly refreshing and crisp with good longevity

Guerlain Cologne Imperiale: Carry a pocket atomizer and this stuff can be your best friend when it's hot out

Millesime Imperial: Shimmering aquatic metallic melon in a salty sea breeze

Fahrenheit Cologne: Fahrenheit minus the stuff that feels overwhelming when it's too hot. Great scent.

Ferrari Radiant Bergamot: A cooling, minty grassy green bergamot scent that you can spray away and not worry about it getting too heavy, yet it has good presence and performance.

Gianfranco Ferre Bergamotto Marino: Wonderful neroli/bergamot fragrance with a touch of melon and an aquatic air. The thing I don't like about my recommendation here is that I don't really know its status these days. Is it discontinued and selling for high prices on eBay? Probably. Could it be found for a good price, like under $50? Maybe. If you can get a hold of it for a fair price, it's totally worth it. If not, don't kill yourself tracking it down. After all these years and bottles sold, this is one that I wish I'd kept, as I realize it's the top of its class along with Chanel Eau de Cologne and TF Neroli Portofino.

Chanel Allure Sport Cologne is fantastic and a total departure from the rest of the line. Also, +1 for Guerlain L'eau Boisee. Bleu de Chanel edt is another one I'm returning to after a long absence. I'm totally burnt out on the edp and parfum but I tested the edt again after almost seven years and was impressed once again. That grapefruit/ginger combo is lovely.

What I'll wear in the summertime:

    - Lalique Encre Noire Sport - has a cooling effect on me and I like that bittery vetiver with the citrus aquatic mix
    - Hermes Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche - one of the best openings ever, blast of really nice lemony oranges, followed by that Ellena armpit trick
    - Bvlgari Aqva Amara - simple goody, in the vein of modern "shower gel" fragrances, but more interesting orangy slightly smoky, resinous smelling instead of obnoxious ambroxan overkill
    - Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne - much better than expected, I prefer it over the Dior Homme Cologne, very easy to wear!
    - Aqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi - that's tropical vacation feeling, a scent that makes me smile!
    - Maison Martin Margiela Jazz Club - yes, really! It reminds me a little bit of suntan lotion with a coconutty vibe, shines from afternoon to midnight
    - Dior Homme EDT - modern classic male scent, current 12244/A formulation is really nice and not that dated smelling as older ones
    - Prada L'Homme - casual allrounder, can't go wrong with this "clean, soapy" smell.
