Good morning all !. Yesterday's evening scent (PR La Nuit parfum) is still going strong a full 15 hours after application yesterday !. My skin has always been perfume friendly and longevity is rarely an issue but this is particularly remarkable. It is undoubtedly one of the most tenacious and impressive performers I have ever encountered .

After showering will be going with Heeley Sel Marin this morning.

Thanks to my get well wishers--it's working. My throat is not so sore and I have the tickle cough of getting over a sore throat with just a bit of heaviness in the head, not much. Feel like a nap but that's about the extent of it. I still got up, got dressed, and took a box of culled kitchen/closet detritus to Goodwill. Later, I will still work on the back yard--maybe not much, but more than nothing. I seem to be competitive. I like to beat a cold and not let it stop me--weird.

I'm in straight up Teint de Neige today--oil on my wrists so that when I curl up into a little ball I can smell myself. Weird.

Montale Vanilla Cake sample - Montales used to be really strong, but lately everything I try from them is gone in an hour, like this one. Will switch to Loree Rodkin Gothic II.

    Hello all,

I’m spending Saturday in Philosophy Amazing Grace. Our house is undergoing repair so I’m at the laundromat. Good Lord, I detest the smell of scented laundry products. I use scent free myself.

    Have a good day.

I snapped up an Ormonde Jayne sample set recently, so today I'm testing two that aren't in the database: Passionate Love and Sensual Love. Passionate Love smells like drinking hot tea with lemon at your kitchen table just after dawn near a bouquet of flowers that are just starting to wilt. Sensual Love is OJ's second attempt at berries after the Selfridge's exclusive One.5 Parfum, and personally, I don't think they do berries well. There's something a bit tinny and synthetic about both One.5 and Sensual Love that keep them in neutral territory for me. I'm enjoying Passionate Love quite a bit. It's soft, closer to a skin scent (to my nose, at least--OJ is notorious for their heavy-handed use of IsoE, which can smell stronger to others than to the wearer). I think Passionate Love is a misnomer, but it's a pleasant and calming scent that seems perfect for this quiet, overcast Saturday. It could be a modernized version of 1000, but 1000 is so much better overall that the comparison is hardly fair.

Lovely photos, Jon--our daffs are still just green leaves poking out of the soil. In honor of your new acquisition, I'm wearing La Nuit edp today.
