Hello, you adorable, bright, good-hearted, fine-smelling people. May you all be healthy or on your way to better health and looking forward to something that sparks joy.

Bond No. 9 Mothers Day -- tangerine, freesia, lily, jasmine, amber, musk, sandalwood. I found out this was discontinued under the Mothers Day name and re-released as Nolita.

Good ol' Marie. She's helped me. I don't get rid of things that do not spark joy, but she's pulled me along so I can get rid of things that spark irritation. Progress.

It sparks joy to twin you, ZC, in Gianfranco Ferré for Man, still saying thank you to Acey for his generous sample swap that clued me into some truly fine fragrances.

You could write a contrarian book, Shy! Most of us relate to a more curmudgeonly attitude anyway. The Ornery Organizer: Set mediocre expectations, but still make progress.

I am sort of oppressed by owning things, by my nature, but end up with stuff anyway. Am very bad at organizing so cannot have many things. What I do like about the MK method is that folding pants so they are filed in a drawer process. OMG that is so much better. Fills the space much more efficiently. Love love, particularly for jeans as they stand up well in the drawer.

First time from my new decant:

    Vetiver Nocturne by Bortnikoff Perfumes

OMG its so good! Wow. I always wanted to know what a fragrance would smell like with a prominent wild vetiver note (Ruh Khus) and this is it. Reminds me of the vetiver growl in Djedi by Guerlain. Serious. This is lovely stuff. I can't wait to wear this again.

Apologies for spritz and dash - will try to catch up with everyone's goings-on soon!

Christian Fissore Cashmere for Women for me today.

Goodness, I love this stuff. It's not terribly novel, and is fairly linear, but when I smell it, my eyes consistently roll back in my head and I feel just a bit happier... Good enough to make it one of my holy grail scents. Soft. Beautiful. Well-constructed. Even though it's not included in the note list, I always get a fizzy gingery element that I can't quite put my finger on but it reminds me of sticking my nose over a cold glass of just-poured ginger ale as a kid and the smell/sensation of the bubbles bursting gently just under my nose.

Cashmere for Women notes: Bergamot, jasmine, rose, lily-of-the-valley, musk, Virginia cedar, amber, vanilla, myrrh.
It’s thought that people who hope too much will just waste their life away and never get down to doing any real work. They’re confusing Hope with Wish, its lazy cousin... When Wish whispers, “Something is just around the corner,” what comes or not is never what was wished for. When Hope whispers “Something is just around the corner,” something always is. -- Charlie Elberson
