Very best it's hard to say, but they are really good. Perhaps, in terms of pure incense, I'd give the edge to things like Sahara Noir or Bois d'encens.

    I don't perceive Interlude as (frank)incense.

Really good ones, but many others have more incense type vibes.

Imo, Epic isn't on the same level as Interlude. Epic is so dry it reminds me of having a sore throat. Interlude is also much more interesting overall.

My favorite incense frags aren't straight-up liturgical like Avignon or Lavs; more like TF Sahara Noir and By Killian's Incense Oud.

after the disappointments of the devil series, rundholz, beaufort and the great satisfactions of filippo Sorcinelli and after buying the best church incenses I just have to try the three amouage ,included jubilation and Sahara noir as well as for the summer loewe 7 anonymous and sancti.

do you think are good choices?

Very much agree with Oud Dude. Tom Ford Sahara Noir is my favorite incense-centric fragrance. After that, Interlude Man is second. Powerful, complex fragrance. I give it the edge over Incense Oud, which I do love, because IO has much weaker silage. But it's sophisticated and elegant. After those two, I rank CDG Kyoto and Zagorsk.

Agree with Cacio on the Sahara Noir.

Norma Kamali Incense stands head and shoulders above ALL other incense fragrances, but you'll need to probably take a mortgage to buy it now, if anyone's selling.

SahaRa Noir, apparently discontinued is the 2nd best from among scores I've tried (yet to try Unum Lavs).

Having searched long and far for the perfect incense, I would conclude as follows (knowing full well that my journey may not be over):

    1. There are very good incenses that I would love to wear (Jubilation XXV) and others I appreciate as very good incenses but that I would find hard to wear (Sahara Noir).
    2. With new scents being released all the time, the overall picture is evolving quite a lot.

Of those I would love to wear are Epic in original formulation, Incensi by Villoresi, Jubilation XXV and to some extent Grand Soir.

Of those that I find hard to wear but are nonetheless wonderful incenses are Sahara Noir and Casbah by RP. Perhaps in small doses or on special occasions they might be good but I personally find them hard to work with. Sahara Noir I will add is quite literally pure incense. Wonderful stuff.

Sahara Noir is good. Otherwise, watch out for Casbah, 03.Apr.1968 (Rundholz), Comme des Garçons Incense series, and of course Amouages.

They are completely different. It's a matter of personal taste and not which is better. Personally I love Interlude, I love nuclear scents for winter. I've tried both (not the magnetic cap) and I didn't liked Epic. The only thing that keeps me off buying the Interlude, it's the reformulation thing that many say.

Actually I can see what you're saying. It's more amber than incense... the sweetness comes from these notes though.

+1 on Clive Christian V for Men, bottles of the original formula can be found at a discount currently.

I have Interlude but I never tried Epic. However I heard that Interlude is more like an "Epic Intense" .
