Guerlain Shalimar. Being that it's summer I'd recommend an EDT or EDC concentration.

Another option would be Bleu de Chanel EDT as this has a prominent incense note in it.

L'Artisan Timbuktu is another good option.

Depends on the summer in question, but I'd say that CdG 2 Man, Kyoto, Timbuktu are all worthwhile candidates.

    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.

Furyo if two sprays or less, or Dzongkha if it's raining. I also love Wonderwood, even if it's technically not very incensey.

Let Me Play the Lion by LesNez, a sheer wafting incense. It’s description on Basenotes has a scratch-and-sniff page.

    Oh, another I forgot:

idk if youre much into attars but Encens Chypre by Sultan Pasha works in the summer, its not too heavy of an incense. pretty green.

+1 on CdG 2 Man, and from the CdG Incense series, I prefer to Jaisalmer in the heat with its astringent spice notes.

Eau d'Italie Paestum Rose works well. Fresh rose over sheer woody incense.

I've taken delivery of a small, 30ml bottle of the old Timbuktu formulation and have to agree, it is nice summery incense. But I still prefer L'Eau Froide because it's a much colder fragrance, whereas Timbuktu seems to be more drier yet 'warmer' if that makes sense. It's kind of like cooling sea spray vs. warm breeze, both scream summer, but one's more refreshing.

Timbuktu...definitely and L'Eau Froide by Serge Lutens, although the incense is very subtle. Check out https://boisdejasmin.com/2012/03/ser...ce-review.html review.

    A few of my warmer-weather incense go-tos:
LesNez: Let Me Play The Lion
    Mendittorosa: Archetipo
Aesop: Hwyl (better known for its hinoki accord, it does proffer a lovely, sheer frankincense)
    Miller Harris: La Fumée

a few more I’d forgotten about:
Heeley: Cardinal (in the same arena as Avignon, but cleaner and lighter w added citrus)
CdG: Old standbys Kyoto & Zagorsk
    WienerBlut: Ex Voto

Comme des Garcons Blue Encens has a cool-fresh vibe that would work perfectly in the summer months.

(There's a pattern here...CdG makes so many good incense fragrances. Explore the line!

I actually like CDG Zagorsk for summer because it's got a wonderful cooling vibe to it. Of all the others mentioned, I'd go for Montale Full Incense on a day that isn't super hot because it's on the sweeter side and lighter, but with longevity. I'd avoid Interlude Man and Sahara Noir during the summer, although those are my favorite incense frags of all. They work for spring though.

Although not a 100% incense fragrance, ADG Profumo is appropriate for summer and has just enough incense to not become overpowering in warm weather.

Among the more daring possibilities, the relatively new released incense-based EDP concentration fragrance from Couvent des Minimes, particularly Fort Royal, Porto Bello, Valparaiso and Smyrna manage to achieve just the right balance between freshness befitting warmer weather and incense in its more exotic, uncommon, quite complex renditions.
