Default Vintage fragrances you would love to come across (designer).

    Hi,

Just curious what designer vintage fragrances you would love to come across hidden in the back of a old school mall fragrance shop. I mentioned in another post I have found vintage M7... looking for ideas to ask my guy about.

Still looking for a bottle of Kouros Fraicheur.

    Thanks.

An original Or Black by Pascal Morabito to add to the one I currently have.

Also any hints on how to identify the vintage by the box would be helpful.

I know with M7 the ingredients list is telltale. 4 ingredients is the original.

Already happened. Three bottles of D&G By Man tucked away in our local pharmacy long after discontinuation. I'd been hunting high and low and ended up hitting the jackpot five minutes walk from my own front door

I’d rather come across a bunch of vintage lesser talked about designer frags that I could smell/sample, rather than finding a couple gems I could buy.

There’s so many vintage designer fragrances that are obscure/ignored/etc that I’d love to try. Like... all the old Italian fragrances that came out of Diana de Silva in the 80’s & 90’s.

All the long gone, both discontinued and over-reformulated, Guerlains, reissued and not.
VEGA was a good one. Wish I had bought it.

Caron Farnesiana extrait. And don’t I wish I had bought it!

    Deep vintage sniffs a plus!

This thread is of interest to me as I've been delving into vintage frags lately, haha.

I basically completed my vintage Eau Sauvage hunt for now.
Fahrenheit completed (but willing to add more!).
    Kouros is never completed.
Armani Eau Pour Homme semi-complete with a couple black bases.
Caron Pour Un Homme basically complete unless I get more greedy (though not sure if Caron counts as designer)
Terre d'Hermes complete (but willing to add more as well if price is right)
Early American Old Spice semi-complete (not sure yet, have to wait and smell)
Eau d'Hermes - complete with two copper caps and 1 modern black cap
    Balenciaga Pour Homme - complete
    Jaipur Homme EdP - complete
Grey Flannel - complete (but would like to come across pre-Sanofi)
Versace L'Homme - complete I suppose but I'll keep checking to see if something pops up.

So I guess for now, I'm interested in..
    Guerlain Vetiver - EdT primarily
Polo - still interested a bit in Polo even though I just received a Cosmair one.
    Declaration Essence original packaging
Gucci Envy for Men - now that I owned the real thing, Carven Homme probably wouldn't cut it.
KOURROOOSS - the search never ends for this masterpiece. I would like a Charles of the Ritz bottle.

I'd need to wear more, just received the copper caps recently - but so far I was actually pretty surprised how similar they were in the opening, except the drydown was a bit different if I recall. I'd really need to wear again to let you know.

I can try to test both on myself at same time and let you know - shoot me a PM to remind me sometime.

Needless to say, both are good. Don't worry about modern being garbage, it's what made me fall in love with Eau d'Hermes before I even tried vintage stuff.

I concur with you; the modern formula is what made me realize I needed to sell off half of my perfumes because they would clash with it. I am not sure what civet smells of on its own, but I do like stinky and dirty so I am curious if the copper cap is enough of a difference to justify spending the money. I will most certainly remind you if I remember myself, lol.

I would poop my Pampers if I found a cheap bottle of Azzaro Intense that some dusty old antiques shop keeper was holding onto. Wouldn't mind stumbling across the original Burberrys in an estate sale, either.

Any time I see an actual Mom & Pop pharmacy I get excited, but there are so few of them anymore.. I don't even know if any exist in Northeast Ohio.

When I was a young teen in the early 80's, one of my favorite places was the fragrance isle at my hometown pharmacy (Strubles). I still have faint memories of some of the colognes, all the different colors, but who knows what they were or where they are now..
