Happy Birthday, cazaubon!! I hope you've celebrated yourself properly!

Belated congratulations on your posting milestone, ComDiva. I feel like I should sample anything that has the words "Dirty" and/or "Honey" in the name.

I'm so glad you're out from under the bug, teardrop! On Sunday, I got slammed from out of nowhere with a 102 fever that lasted on and off until Monday evening. This has been by far the worst year for being sick I can ever remember. And I feel good today -- almost back to normal. Craziness.

I'm sampling a couple of Ex Nihilo fragrances: Cuir Celeste and Viper Green. As a general comment, for some reason, I really want to like this house. Maybe it's the bottles, I dunno. But every time I sample one of their fragrances, I'm left somewhere on the spectrum of underwhelmed to puzzled to scrubbing. I should probably just throw in the towel.

Specifically, Cuir Celeste is kind of a woody leather with a coolness that reminds me of the coolness in SL L'eau Froide, but they've hosed up the use of akigalawood. There's a really unlikeable sharpness to the fragrance. I have yet to find anything that handles akigalawood better than ELdO Une Amourette, which I own, so I should just enjoy it and get on with it already.

Viper Green is nice, but the naming stewards from Le Labo took a day off to moonlight at Ex Nihilo. There is very little that's green in this fragrance after the first 10 minutes, and absolutely NOTHING viper-ish about it. It's a safe, nice, light white floral. For the price of the fragrance, inoffensiveness offers little incentive to buy it. Which I will not be. In case that wasn't obvious.

Quarry - tell your husband I said 'Happy Birthday'. Will he be in Chicago with you? I remember him being a really cool dude at the NoLa meet up and me dragging him over to the Creed counter so the SA could spray him down with Royal Oud - he was very cooperative

Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes!! I’ve been offline for a few days due to our semi-annual move from San Diego to Montreal, but I have made good progress digging out and will be back in action tomorrow. Fiveoaks Bouquet and I celebrated with a delicious lunch and a spin through the fancy new beauty hall at Ogilvy Holt Renfrew.

Happy birthday to Mr. Quarry as well!

I was off yesterday from work so today was long and super busy. It also rained all day and I had to park farther than normal so I got soaked on the way home. I am going to take a bath with these new bath salts I just bought (they are supposed to smell like a Xmas tree) and then I am going to smear and apply a whole bunch of:

This evening, I'm sampling Bogue Profumo O/E. To me, it seems like roughly the same ground the perfumer plowed with MAAI, but with citrus rather than florals. I much prefer MAAI. This is just sort of ... meh.

But I am VERY happy to wish Mr. Q a Happy Birthday , too. (I just forgot earlier.)
