Default Can't pick out the notes...but I still like it!

We fragrance connoisseurs pride ourselves on being able to pick out individual notes and the progression of a fragrance from opening to heart to drydown. I think for most scents, we get pleasure from the olfactory ability to experience these subtleties.

But is there a scent that leaves you unable to recognize individual notes or accords...and yet you like it?

For me, it's Boccanera from Orto Parisi. It's kind of resinous, kind of musky, a little spicy perhaps, but It's all muddled together, and I can't pick out any specific notes. But I really like it! I just like the smell. Do you have any scents like that in your collection? That prevent specific recognition but they just smell good?

For me - it's the Le Monarque house. Since the notes aren't revealed in their five fragrances, I find myself constantly guessing.

Interesting way that this house presents itself. Only available in Europe I take it?

I find this tends to hold true for attars with high concentrations of natural ingredients. Notably those Ive tried from Abdessalam Attar, Areej Le Dore and Sultan Pasha.
