    Hi! First of all, do you mean the discontinued one (Eau de Santal) or the current in production one (Santal) ? I have never smelled Eau de Santal but I heard many times it is reminiscent of Gucci's legend, Envy.

    And second, I think "knowing" what kind of chemicals would be a long shot - but if you are also OK with us "guessing", then my humble reply continues below

    I have smelled / tested many times the current Floris Santal (again I'm not sure if they are the same juice with the old package that said Eau de Santal). The current one is a very smooth barbershop scent - that goes without saying it's a light blend of sandalwood, cedar, pepper, lavender with a musky vanilla base.

    So I'd start with;

    Ethylvanilline
    Galaxolide
    Javanol (I think this is the best sandalwood similar to what you get in Floris Santal)
    Ebanol or Sandalore (to give that linear woods a bit more punch)
    EO Cedarwood (Virginia)
    EO Lavender (I think Bulgarian ?)
    EO Blackpepper
    EO Bergamot

    and would just experiment accents using EO Cardamom, Violet.

    Sorry if I'm not giving you just "chems" but yeah for sure the EOs are affordable in this one. Hope you catch something similar (or even better) and share the results.
