    Default Male anniversary gift recommendation

    Hey folks!

It's my first post here and I do hope I'm not posting in the wrong section.

My husband loves perfume, and I've left getting an anniversary gift late!*

Nor do I have a clue.

Here are some of his faves on his perfume shelf:

    Amouage interlude

    Amouage journey

    Amouage plus

    Armani myrrh imperiale

    Al Shareef Oudh

    And female perfume he likes*

    Tom ford Plum japonaise

    Armani rose d'arabie

    HELP!!!!!

    - posted on another forum too, all suggestions appreciated

    Welcome!

Your husband clearly likes big, elegant perfumes. And it seems budget is not a big issue.
If he likes Rose d'arabie, he might enjoy Dior Oud Ispahan (oud rose), or its much more macho brother, Dior Leather Oud.
He also seems to like incense and spices, so you could go true niche with things like Tauer (eg Air du desert marocain or Au coeur du desert, which are spicy ambery).

If you want to be a bit mischievous, you could also look into Etat Libre d'Orange Tom of Finland, a classic and solid saffron and leather, with an irreverent box design.

Welcome Fatoomtrain! Enjoy your time here at Basenotes! I think Cacio's suggestion above Oud Ispahan is a good one as it seems it would be one he'd might like.

Perhaps the more classic Chanels, like Egoiste (the regular Egoiste, not the Platinum Egoiste) or Antaeus. They are bigger and bolder. Though perhaps he likes a bit more bite and volume. Certainly, not the more common current chanels like Bleu or Allure.

Hi fatoomtrain, one that I would recommend is Penhaligon's As Sawira. I love how it smells on my husband!!

Sounds like a job for Oud Wood.

He clearly likes Amouage. How about Jubilation XXV? or Epic?

Seconding especially the Chanel Egoiste and Chanel EDP/Concentree suggestions and also taking the liberty to add:

    - Santos de Cartier,

    - Zino Davidoff,

    - Bogart Furyo,

    - Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme,

    - almost anything by Frederic Malle, particularly French Lover, Geranium pour Monsieur but also Portrait of a Lady if venturing on the mor androgynous (but still unisex wearable) side,

    - Knize Ten (for an iconic traditional floral-leather),

    - Opus 1870 by Penhaligon's (if combining his already favorite notes with a more quirky yet unexpectedly crafty and gentlemanly citrus-peppery-leather one)

    - Habit Rouge EDP, possibly even Songe d'un Bois d'Ete by the same house of Guerlain, both managing a quite interesting and unlikely balance between a conservative, almost formulaic floral and a darker, almost powerhouse vanillic oud, with a quite trendy, tastefully contemporary end result
