I had my very first "perfume" dream last night
Very bizarre! We were at a perfume sampling and had to sniff the samples
and rate them. I ended up drinking the first sample instead of sniffing it and
proclaiming that it smelled/tasted like PLJ (lemon juice.)
The second sample was pink and floral and I actually wrote : this one is more
my style as it is pretty and feminine! As you may know that is not really my style
    of perfume at all!
A woman without perfume is like a flower without a scent.

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Morning. Computer goes to the shop today so I must post from my phone. Not my favorite this tiny screen!
I’ve got the remnants of a cold (which I picked up from my bf’s grand baby ) that has left me completely anosmic. More than the typical cold. I can’t smell or taste anything! So to be safe I’m in Taur Wowilla Body Oil. Subtle and lovely. Have a good one all!

Happy Monday everyone! It’s another gray day in the Upper Left, and I’m having a slow start to my morning (for once!). Also massively excited for Game of Thrones tonight!! Seems Monday will be my usual watch day this season.

Anyhoo... I’m in Chanel No.19 Poudre today. <3

The photos in yesterday's SotD thread were lovely! Thank you, tdem, knit, and Jon! I didn't post yesterday but did enjoy the day with family, wearing Ormand Jayne Frangipani, which was my wedding fragrance. It's my best JFP.

    I'm sampling today:
Frapin Isle of Man (grapefruit, bitter orange, basil, salt accord, freesia, violet, ironwood, vetiver, musk),
Puredistance Aenotus (orange, mandarin, lemon, yuzu, mint, blackcurrant bud, petitgrain, oakmoss, patchouli, musks),
Naomi Goodsir Nuit de Bakelite (angelica, violet leaf, galbanum, orris, karo karounde, tuberose, leather, davana, styrax, tobacco, labdanum, gaiac wood), and
Dusita Erawan (herbal notes, petitgrain, lily-of-the-valley, Haitian vetiver, hay, clary sage, liatris (deertongue), cedar, oakmoss, vanilla)

They're all quite good so far. I think Aenotus will be better on David than on me, but I *really* like Isle of Man -- that's the one I keep coming back to. I'm a sucker for a great grapefruit opening.

Nuit de Bakelite is as lovely as advertised, but it's so similar to Adjatay as to be redundant. NdB is more delicate and more about tobacco smoke than leather, but they both walk largely the same path.

I wanted to try Erawan in the hope it could stand in for the amazing Parfumerie Generale Bois Blonds, which was discontinued before I realized how much I loved it. The slightly sharp, golden grassy opening that I loved so much in Bois Blonds appears for only a split second in Erawan, before quickly settling into a hay/oats/vanilla fragrance. Sigh.

NCal, you asked about my favorites from Rogue -- Mousse Illuminee is indeed my favorite. It's just stunning. #2 is Derviche, and #3 is Chypre Siam. I'll be adding all 3 to my collection but probably not all at once. Before Chicago, I hope to add Mousse Illuminee and a full bottle of Bogue Profumo MAAI. I've gone through 3 samples of MAAI, so it's definitely time to spring for the bottle.
