Default What scents would be evocative of wisdom?

When I think of wisdom and try to associate a smell I think mainly of incense or sandalwood..what scent evokes the idea of wisdom to you?

Always perceived certain fragrances more likely to have an intellectual and/or artistic feel than the others-but still uncertain as to how this may be equated with wisdom.

However, there may be certain particular notes always identified or at least imagined as a common point of the three aforementioned characteristics- notes that suggest a certain detached, cool, even meditative, calming sensation, even stimulating for certain intellectual pursuits.

These notes may perhaps include, without being limited to: lavender, unsmoked, cool, calming rather than too spicy or sweet tobacco (perhaps akin to fine cigars or expensive pipe tobacco), mint, indeed the aforementioned pensive incense, toned down, rather than zesty and sharp citrus essential oils/citrus flowers etc. could be at least part of the ingredients for scents closer to this fragrance profile/requirement.
Currently wearing: Citrus & Wood by Yardley

It has to be Frankincense and Myrhh, especially growing up on the story of three wise men gifting the scents to the baby Jesus.

    Creed GIT

Edit to add “educational note”: I feel the abbreviation of the fragrance name as related to this thread is akin to the use of the term, “idiot savant”. I do not want my first choice of Creed frag to be known as an “unpleasant or contemptible person” by definition, so from now on, I’m going to add periods to “GIT”.

It doesn't matter what you use as long as you keep it in this, you're as wise as a, well.....you get it.
I don't know if you want to actually smell like one though.

To me, it would be something deep, dark, earthy. Something that might be used to conjure up the Erdgeist in Goethe’s Faust. My experience is mostly in the designer realm, but I bet someone more knowledgeable could think of some niche fragrance in that vein. Something like Terre d’Hermes or Noir Anthracite, but with a Demeter Dirt style earthy note.

Tam Dao, but not too literally. Dao is “The Way” in Chinese philosophy. The dry, woody scent of Tam Dao connotes austere wisdom to me, as cultivated in a remote mountain monastery.

Bookish/Wise scents usually involve some kind of incense for me.

CdG Kyoto, Avignon, things like that.

Jovoy Private Label smells like old leather bound books.

I like these picks. Though it is in a camp than the above, vintage Dominico Caraceni 1913 might be worth adding to the list.

Something that makes me think of an older gentleman who's been there, seen that, experienced almost everything, but has remained sane and respectable: Creed's Bois du Portugal and Nicolai's Patchouli Intense are two that come to mind.

My vote is on Grimoire (literally means "a book of magic spells and invocations") by Anatole Lebreton or LAVS by UNUM... Both have that deep sense of introspect about them (to me).
