    Default Dark by Akro

    Akro
Three founders: Olivier Cresp. Anaïs Cresp. Jack Miskelly. French Father / Daughter and her British partner Jack Miskelly.

    Luckyscents description:
Oh man, this is good. A thick pour of molten dark chocolate to begin with, as strong and as intense as an espresso, but absent any of the metallic or animalic aspects that can sometimes emerge in dark chocolate. This is dark chocolate idealized. It’s not sweet or creamy, but there’s a strong hint of caramelized milk running underneath the rafters of the scent to pull it back from acridity. It’s pure unadulterated dark chocolate bliss.

Throughout the day, as the dark chocolate tonality ebbs away, a gloriously rich, nutty base steps forward to fill the vacuum. Spicy, cinnamon-flecked tonka and hazelnut notes combine with vanilla to create a suede-textured drydown that seems to go on forever without shedding any of its richness – a thing of beauty in a world where oftentimes the ending is rushed. Interestingly, though from the same hand that created Angel, Dark is its complete opposite – plush but not fruity, and gourmand but not edible or ‘yummy’. Dark is an exquisitely balanced, elegant chocolate quasi-gourmand that leans to the adult side of the indulgence spectrum. An utter pleasure to wear.

    Dark Notes
Cocoa, Dark Chocolate, Cinnamon, Hazelnut, Vanilla

There are six scents from Akro. I bought the discovery set because I like Olivier Cresp.
    Today I sampled "Dark"
Simply put this is the best chocolate scent I've had the pleasure to wear. Not some sickening adolescent gourmand for sure.
Dark has an immediate WOW FACTOR , and continued to please me the entire time.
As Luckyscent said, "an utter pleasure to wear".

Now I'm looking forward to sampling the other 5 in the next five days.

Six transgressive fragrances: Cigarettes. Marijuana. Sex. Chocolate. Caffeine. Alcohol.

The discovery set is $30.00 and comes in a very classy metal box.
Addictions turned into perfume. Each one is an escape hatch from the conventional. The discovery kit, for the curious and intrigued. 2ml atomizer spray samples of all 6 Akro perfumes– Awake, Dark, Haze, Malt, Night, and Smoke.

Have the entire house of six bottles. Bought them from Jovoy two months ago when they premiered. All wonderful. Malt and Smoke are my preferred.

I saw this on Lucky. Sounded quite tempting. Look forward to the rest of your reviews.

Wow. These all sound like winners. Isn't this a new brand? Impressive work right out of the gate.

I've had time to sample all six scents from this new house.
All six are 4 Stars and highly recommended to explore IMHO.
All of the scents are well executed and thought out.
Everyone will have different favorites for sure.
    Hednic favorites Malt and Smoke
My favorites are Night and Dark, but it changes sometimes when I'm wearing one of the others from Akro.
What are the odds a new house could have six out six good ones on first release.
What a great time I had sampling this new house of Akro.
Every time I sampled a new one, I felt like I was smelling a finished product

How fantastic. Thanks for the report. Do you think the notes listed on Luckyscent are accurate? How is the longevity and silage overall?

I'd love to try these but the shipping costs for the sample set in the US are a bit steep.

Thanks for your thoughts on this house. Would you say any of the fragrances prominently feature woody-amber/synth-woods in the drydown?

Have you smelled Ummagumma by Bruno Fazzolari? Would you compare it at all to Dark?

They have one that smells like cigarettes? Interesting...kind of like that ELDO scent.

I own Ummagumma and like very much. Dark has a WOW factor and is more alluring than Ummagumma and smells entirely different, even though they both have chocolate.

My Wife has that horrible habit of smoking cigarettes, although not allowed in our home or my car.
If it actually smelled like cigarettes, I would hate it. No worries "Smoke" does not to me.
Smoke is not challenging or just down right weird like an ELDO can be at times.

I would have to say yes to that with an asterisk*

*The perfumes are so well balanced - you'll never notice, or get the yucky synthetic wood we all hate - or at least I do.

When you add to cart you get to add 2 more complimentary samples of your choice, which essentially makes shipping free on this one.

Hmm. I didn't see that prompt when I was going through it on my phone, but that does make it more tempting.

Have two in mind, and can enter when added to cart - otherwise if you don't select, Luckyscent will.

Oh, so this is on Luckyscent? I was going directly to the Akro site.

20$ shipping from Luckyscent (plus an annoying Customs fee of 6,45$) or €20 from the Akro site for Canadians.
    Most worn:

Well, I took advantage of the Luckyscent offer (I asked to sample Nicolai Cuir Cuba Intense and Mancera Red Tobacco) and will be receiving this set soon.

I'm kinda skeptical re: "Night" given the cumin note, but everything else sounds nifty.

I'm not a fan of cumin - it's barely noticable

My man strifeknot got a good price on a bottle of Dark and is splitting it.
I put my money where my mouth is and got 20ml.
Usually 5-10ml will suffice, but not with this gem.
