Our family did our Cinco de Mayo margaritas and tacos yesterday...so it was a big day in our house: Cinco de Mayo food & drink, May the Fourth (be with you), AND Derby Day. Mr. B is from KY so we always watch.

Today for church (and a grey drizzly day) is the bright passionfruit of Arielle Shoshana.

I think I wear this one more on Sunday...I have no idea why. The little rituals we have with fragrance - observed they can seem kind of silly...but gosh darnit this scent feels 'right' on a Sunday.

I have been more consistent with my Cross Fit this month - I 'stepped it up' a bit and have been going more often with more consistency. But still...I sort of miss normal gym workouts. So today, I will do a light gym workout, and take tomorrow off from CF. After that I am going to spend a bit more time in the sauna/steam room at the gym - I need some extra self care.

teardrop - I think you leave tomorrow for Glasgow, no? If so, and I don't get a chance to say so to you before you go, 'safe travels'. I'm sure your positive spirit will be uplifting to your husband and your in-laws - they could use some of that now. Go do what you do so easily. ((bear hugs))

Paid a visit to Ashridge Estate for another of our woodland walks this morning. One hell of an experience in the depths of the forest - almost like being in an huge arboreal cathedral with the avian contingent belting out the hymns.

Joining Cazaubon in original Bottega Veneta eau de parfum (but fortunately not in the yard work).

After two years of owning and wearing this scent, it has unquestionably risen to my #1 favorite modern designer feminine of the past 10 years. The leather/plum/violets in an oakmoss-based chypre structure make it perfection to my nose. And it doesn't hurt that all the bath products are superb, too.

If anyone has tried the Absolu version that came out last year, I'd love to hear their notes on it.

A perfume friend sent me a bunch of violet samples, so I'm trying one today--Violette Sacree. I think there's a reason there is a violet-shaped hole in my collection, I might have to scrub this off. I probably would like it better if it were Violette Sucre.

    Beautiful photos, Jon!

mike, thanks for your kind comments. l'll be off to Glasgow on Tuesday evening, & tomorrow l'm working.

Thank goodness the Rangers managed to scrape by with a win this afternoon, so Mr teardrop should be happy with that, & l'm sure a couple of hours of shouting & screaming were good therapy for him. l came home to watch the second half, & it was strange knowing that he was there somewhere in that crowd.

Jon, thanks for the stunning photos!
