I had difficulties choosing some of my perfumes for this list because i like them almost as much as i like a couple of others. In your list there are 4 of those perfumes that have lost their position in my top 20.

Okay, the first 15 were easy. Narrowing down the last 5 was HARD. Here goes:

    ROCHAS
    Femme (parfum)

    DIOR
    Fahrenheit
    Eau Sauvage (EDP)
    Diorling
    Diorama
    Diorella
    Dioressence

    COTY
    Jungle Gardenia

    LANVIN
    My Sin (parfum)

    Bonus:
    TOM FORD PRIVATE BLEND
Velvet Gardenia (okay, so 2007 hardly qualifies as vintage, but with my time machine I’d make a quick stop off to pick up a 250ml flacon of this). I have a time machine and I smell ah-mazing. Try and stop me

    Honourable mentions:
    1000 (parfum)
    Vent Vert
    Givenchy III
    Rumeur
    Scandal (parfum)
    Bois des Iles
    Bandit
    Cabochard
    Coty Chypre
    Eau Arpege
    Habanita
Muscs Koublai Khan (does 1998 count?)

    adjective
(of a person or expression) to be desirous of an abundance of chypre.

Lots of good stuff in here. I still need to try some of these, including Dioressence, Diorling, and the Caron's.

I hadn't realized you had such a healthy appetite for vintage.

I believe you're the first person I've ever seen who, like me, includes all the Diorishes but excludes Miss Dior. It's sort of the #1 understudy in my Top 20.

It happens sometimes. I have asked myself the same question last time i wore Knize Ten.

Thank you, Bavard. Vintage was my first love. My mother and grandmother were both perfumistas, and I was lucky to grow up with many of the greats. I thought all perfume smelled this good, and it was quite the disappointment to see the way so many of these were discontinued or reformulated beyond all recognition. With the way the industry trended, I took a break entirely for some years. Niche was a way back to something I loved, albeit with a different expression.

Sadly, those days of glorious, unrestricted and readily available, materials are gone. And with the prices that are being asked for some of these, I’m resigned to the fact I’m unlikely to own many of these again.

3rd generation perfumista, wow. What a lucky circumstance. I’ve been studying around the clock to catch up. I listen closely to people like you who know the classics.

Quelle horreur! Dior is going to have to tap you both on the ankle with his little stick...
