    Thanks, Hednic

I try to keep my card details away from the web as much as possible

I'm hoping they will be rolled out eventually

I'd like to know your thoughts if you manage to try any of them

Nothing first hand but one super positive write-up was in the Observer Magazine (not known for hyperbole) and another in a fashion mag for women (title escapes me). They are all 'genderless' though

One of the fragrances is called Sebastian (love that name)

"I came across this picture by chance, rummaging among old stuff. In the picture, which I adore, my daughter Julia managed to capture forever a moment in time, a memory of my long-ago daily life (...) It inspired a sweet sorrow which has stayed with me throughout the development of these fragrances, since they too spring from some of my memories," said Roitfeld.

Their website is interesting. I'll sample if I have a chance. My expectations are low.

So are mine, but she did enlist some perfumers with talent, if mostly underused in mainstream designer stuff. Aurélien Guichard, Yann Vasnier, and this guy, Pascal Guarin (?). She also took 8 years to develop these, supposedly, so there's a chance this isn't just some slipshod vanity product like so many others we've seen before.

    We shall see.

    That's encouraging.

$275 for the "Travel Set" of 10-ml sprays. Who wants to help defray my costs to sample these?

That was a good one, my second favorite after the one the writer chose to end with:

"In some places you can’t use alcohol, but George has weed base in it."

So the alcohol is fine as long as there's also weed?

I think she has chosen well

for me, Yann Vasnier has created very few duds

Anima Dulcis, Palisander and Plum Japonais are just a few of his 'blinders'

Juxtapozbliss did a pass where he had people chip in $15 to buy a sample set. If we get 11 people interested, $25 per person - that would work!

I like the notes on Vladimir. But for someone who chose Hong Kong auteur Wong Kar Wai as one of the 7 inspirations I find it odd she doesn’t ship to Asia.

Good luck to all if you manage to 'group fund' a sample set -- I feel guilty not joining in, but I can bide my time.

I'm sure I'll get my hands on some samples soon

It's a little easier keeping things within the States, but getting something into the UK for the latter stages might work.

This seems like the kind of thing Deadidol might like. Who else? Who gets excited about new release niche?

    Maybe ClaireV.

Default Carine Roitfeld Parfums new fragrance line

Now Smell This reported on this last week and I haven't heard anyone else mention it so I thought I'd post about it:

Carine Roitfeld, former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, has introduced Carine Roitfeld Parfums. The brand debuts with seven unisex fragrances: Aurélien, George, Kar-Wai, Lawrence, Orson, Sebastian and Vladimir.

Through seven captivating fragrances personifying seven unforgettable lovers in seven iconic cities, Carine evokes the lifetime of adventure and sensuality that has guided her to the furthest reaches of the world. Seductive and emblematic like the men who inspired them, the fragrances symbolize her insatiable quest for romance, passion, experience and love.

    Right on. That's 4. $70 each.

If it worked out right, we could each keep one or two of our favorites - I'd be fine only keeping one, or none.

I could make the order and PM PayPal info.

Let me know if you want to wait for others to express interest or if you're ready to launch with 4.

Until I hear "go" from the principals (Jux, Proust, Grey), others are free to join.

I’d be comfortable pulling the trigger if one more person joins.

Jux might start a thread next week to see if we can get critical mass for a pass.
