    Default Elie Saab Oud thoughts?

I saw there's a good deal on this one right now on FragranceNet, thinking about picking up a bottle. Seems like it would be a relatively safe blind buy for me as I like all of the notes; furthermore, I've been looking for something for a while that is a really straightforward oud/incense/resinous/spicy blend but without the more rich or sweet notes like vanilla or rose that often accompany oud. I love Japanese oud incense, and this seems like it might be close to the incenses I enjoy.

What are your thoughts on this? Anyone have much experience? I only found one review on BN which was very positive, and there are a few threads about the Elie Saab Essences line, but not on this fragrance in particular. Luca Turin gave it a stellar review, and the few reviews I've found are all good. But it seems like this one doesn't get a lot of attention or hype. Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts!

Bump - anyone? This one really seems to have flown under the radar considering the very few reviews I've found are extremely positive.

MFK made it, so it will be sweet.

Yeah that's definitely a good sign. Might go ahead and blind buy. And supposedly the oud in this is the same as the oud used in the MFK line. Not sure if it's true or not because it's significantly cheaper.

Would love to hear your thoughts when it arrives since you have some more experience with Kurkdjian's oud creations - definitely check in! I went ahead and blind bought this also. Very curious to see how it is!

I bought it based off of Luca Turin's glowing review, and I think it is pretty good. Like a cousin of m7, but more emphasis on the synthetic oud.

It was originally priced much higher when Elie Saab launched this collection some years ago.

    What Diamondflame said.
Also- the “Oud” MFK uses in his Oud fragrances is synthetic/mostly synthetic, and is the same stuff found in most oud-based fragrances, from $50 to $500. Not saying it’s good or bad, just that what MFK uses is nothing special or unique.

Thanks for the info Diamondflame and Opiate! And if that's the case, I'm glad I only spent $50
