Default A need for Back Up

    Hello,
Getting obsessed with my favorite fragrances, Im having a urgent need of having a back up bottle of each one of them...
    Im sure its quite common.
Instead of buying a new one, I buy the same I already have...
Its only rock and roll but I like it. Yes I do.
    Best!

I confess to be a multiple back-up bottle addict, but almost exclusively with vintage and discontinued fragrances that I know and love.

I find my drive to back up is in inverse proportion to the attraction levels of new scents I sample: the former increases as the latter decreases.

YES. Don’t wait to buy backups of fragrances you love. Reformulations happen a lot sooner than they used to.

Having backup bottles is great especially if it involves an original or vintage formulation fragrance.

All of my dumb reach picks have been the focus on securing multiple backups as I want to be able to enjoy my fragrances liberally for many years and decades to come.

Personally I'd rather have a bunch of backup bottles of fragrances that I enjoy wearing often as oppose to having too many fragrances in which many I wouldn't reach for often.

In all frankness, the fragrances in your current lineup are such impressive choices (at least from a personal viewpoint), would recommend and consider buying a backup either of each or, if not possible, still of most

I've got back ups of 2 fragrances in your collection (the Kouroi). It's good to prep. Even though, depending on the size of your collection and your age/lifespan, it may be entirely unnecessary.

I also had back ups of scents that I grew less fond of but as I only really get back ups if a scent is rare and sold for a good price, selling some of them usually made a profit.

I back up a bunch of stuff. If I start making a dent in a bottle, I look around for a new one, or two.

Two to three hundred milliliters feels like a lifetime supply to me.

I have tightly held and mostly multiple backups of a few of my wardrobe: Aramis Tuscany (Original), Havana Reserva, Havana (Original) and reissue, Caron The Third Man, Montana Parfum d'Homme (Original) and Parfum d' Homme Light, Bill Blass Mr. Blass, Bombay Sapphire Infusion, Bogart Witness, Dunhill Edition, Capucci pour Homme, Viktor&Rolf Antidote, YSL M7 and a few more I can't think of off hand. About 30 bottles of backups in all.

I am somewhat insane about this, but, yes, only with vintage and hard-to-procure scents.

I do!!!! Gentleman, Eau sauvage Parfum (2012), Antaeus and classic Eau Sauvage. Two of each; 100 ml. But I would feel calm if I get 3 or 4....Obsession...

Only current backup is Fahrenheit. Got down to 30 ml or so, picked up 100 more. Eyeballing GGA. Will need another sometime soonish, probly 25-30 left there too. That graph is sweet. I think there needs to be a another line for price of fragrance. If it was at a huge discount, say Fahrenheit was 20 bucks a 100ml id probly buy a couple more, though i dont need them.

300ml is my magic number for designers, but I have 1000ml of some vintage Avons thanks to that $1 per bottle sale last winter at Pike Place.

A backup graph! Who but a dedicated perfumista would do that? Bravo, Cook.bot!

Backup is my middle name. There must be backup of frequent wearers. It’s not because of discontinuation or reformulation but because I would hate to run out of a perfume in the “permanent collection.”. When a bottle is emptied it is reassuring to know that a new one is waiting in the wings and the wearing of that scent can continue without skipping a beat.

That would smack of poor planning.

    I get it.
At this point I’m ready to cull the drobe, stop testing so much, and focus on backups of my favorites. Especially since they keep getting discontinued.

I have about 60 different bottles in my wardrobe and about another 95 of said bottles on back up. Pretty much all vintages, discontinued etc..., no need for back ups of current stuff unless it's on an easy trade or a crazy sale of something I use pretty heavy.

Thankfully we can get a heads up here if there is any chance of a current being discontinued or if there has been a significant reform over time. Otherwise I'm going to need to think about getting a storage unit. Lol
