Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Good morning everyone For the synch I'm layering Samsara edt and Tam dao edt. I got a rather limited sense of smell now, but from experience I know this is like a less sweet Samsara and woodier. Have a great day all

    Hi, everyone -

So just to confess the depth of my olfactory issues right now (especially with this cold), in my rush yesterday I mis-read my sample - Yesterday I was wearing AFTELIER Perfume Cepes and Tuberose, not Atelier perfume Cafe de Tuberose, and while I did wonder why the coffee accord wasn't as prominent as I expected, it didn't really dawn on me that I was wearing a different perfume than I said I was until today (though to be fair to myself, I went back and re-read the sample because I thought *something* was off). :embarrassed: Now I've got to go to Sephora this afternoon and get a sample of Cafe Tuberosa if they have it.

Anyhow, on to today - I can smell *some*, so I grabbed a blind few of the samples I want to try, and picked two I thought would be interesting to layer: Parfum d'Empire Fougere Bengale and Heeley (waves at Easyfish) Chypre 21.

    +

I've got them layered between two knuckles and in the crook of my elbow, and then have them separately on each wrist. So far the Chypre 21 is light and sheer (as I find many Heeley's to be, and I like it), and the Fougere Bengale is much darker and more forward, which I also like; they're playing together pretty nicely so far. I'm going to be an interesting sight today, sniffing first one wrist, then the other, then my elbow or hand, then back again...

    Fabulous Friday, all!

Fougère Bengale fragrance notes: English lavender, Assam tea, Ginger, Mint, Tarragon,Hay, Blond tobacco, Pepper, Geranium, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Vanilla, Tonka bean.

Chypre 21 fragrance note: Italian bergamot, Rosemary, Petitgrain, Neroli, Bulgarian rose, Saffron, Musk, Oakmoss, Patchouli, Sandalwood.

Eau du Sud by Goutal for another 100F/38C day here today. Too soon, too soon.

I'm envying our Chicago Meetuppers and their 72F weather -- not to mention all their sniffing and camaraderie.

Today in synch layering Pomelo Paradis by Atelier with Monserrat by Fazzolari. A juicy grapefruit combination perfect for the 90+ degree heat we are expecting here in Tennessee. I'm caring for my post spine surgery boyfriend, so I'll mostly be inside. Still, I think I'll take an hour for a little lazing under the trees in my hammock!
Envious of the meetupers. Yes. I hope to hear all about it.

    Swiss Army EDT.

This afternoon's merlot will be tilted in the general direction of Chicago. Really looking forward to reading all about the big day

Hazel, best wishes to your boyfriend for a quick, comfortable recovery. Hammock time sounds pretty good. I've been eyeing these public park or group hammock setups created with cargo netting. Probably another weird thing I'll add to the yard someday.

Been torturing myself with the nature of time passage, patience, and anticipation in regard to the meetup. Want to be able to focus on living in the moment tomorrow, but more inclined to function like an over-excited puppy.

I now prefer to layer Tauer Rose Flash with Fragonard Rose de Mai (rather than wearing either independently) as they balance the sweet/sharp effect of each, producing a cheerful, yummy rose.

It's 18C here today (65F), but soon it'll get hot.

I'm missing those cold, crisp, dry fall/winter days that are dark, overcast, somewhat windy, and around 0 degrees or lower (around 30F).

Still deciding on what to wear today.

Just checked the synch, realised it's layering day!

I decided to layer Terre d'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche with Mugler Cologne. I was tempted to layer Ambre Sultan with Arabie, maybe in the evening.

Mugler Cologne just by itself is so nice.

We're with you there freewheeling - it's a tough predicament to be in and throws your mind into a loop.

I'm off today and i had a nice long shower using the wonderful Eau de Patou shower gel; but, i don't have the EDT at my disposal, so went with Eau de Rochas Pour Homme.

We’re in the airport, waiting for our (delayed) flight, but it’s all good

Other than the Saturday fun, we’re taking a very laid back approach to this trip and not scheduling anything. That may limit us in terms of some activities and restaurants, but we don’t care at this point. We’ve found over the years that just taking things as they come and making discoveries in the moment is most fun for us. And since this is our first trip to Chicago together, we’ll be content to just explore and take what the city gives us.

But about Saturday ..., yeah, I’m as excited as a puppy, too!

Since it’s a travel day, I’m wearing Daim Blond.

ETA: (((Hazel))), I just saw your post about your poor boyfriend! I wish for him a speedy and full recovery, and sending a few hugs your way, too. Remember to also take care of you!

I posted some lengthy recommendations on the thread; suggestions for food, drink and places to see. Hope your flight gets in quickly and easily!
