    Hi again everyone!
Does anybody have contact info for Hannah, the SA at the SAKs’ Dior boutique?
The reason the Diorissimo extrait was so reasonably priced was because it was the smaller bottle of edp.
I’d like to get the parfum for Cindy.

She & I cut out early from the decant & sample swap party. My sister has severe PTSD after 32 years as a firefighter & paramedic. Setting off the alarm in the packed elevator at the Drake caused a panic attack.
We had to get outside pronto.
She’s my hero & I adore her, even if she thinks vetiver smells like feet.
    Love you guys!

I saw her face when that happened and I had a feeling she was affected by it stronger than all of us. No worries at all - I completely understand and it was fun having you (and her) when we were shopping. She's a good sport and she also smelled absolutely fantastic in Diorissimo. I've only ever smelled vintage parfum (I went through a small bottle myself years ago) and I was very surprised that the current juice smelled so good on her.

I hope your daughter and her foot injury heal soon. ((bear hugs))

    Thanks Mike!
Cindy & I walked from the Drake to the theater where Hamilton was playing. Our hotel was right next door.
It was very breezy & the sky was beautiful. It helped her a lot, even though it was crowded & every now & then there were sirens.
The Diorissimo did smell fantastic on her. I know my brother in law would really love it on her.
Our mom had a knee replacement 2 days ago, so Cindy is with her doing what she always does, taking care of others.
I like taking care of her, when she lets me, that is.
We both had a great time with all of you. I know she’d be up for another one of our get togethers.

Give dear Cindy a tender hug and kiss from me. Panic attacks are the worst thing in the world.

Bless her. I know something about that. PTSD and panic attacks are so debilitating.
My only regrets in life are the people I haven't stood up for,
and the perfumes I've thrown away.

So meeting everyone at Barney's was awesome. ComDiva ran across the room and gave me a lunging hug that surprised me and made me laugh out loud. Quarry gave me a nice big 'mom hug' and all was right with the world. It was awesome meeting everyone - since I didn't make it to Merz, so I arrived to Barneys with a very fresh nose and lots of cold brew coffee in my cup.

    Highlights from Barneys for me:

    - Eleventh Hour by Byredo. Wow! Love it. The SA recommended we try it and it really did intrigue me a lot. Sort of a mulled, apple cider vinegar smell - I know that sounds gross but I loved it. A spicy, savory scent. It wasn't sweet but had nice presence. I could see this smelling beautiful in warm weather. I can't wait to score a sample.
    - Watching Extreme K fall in love with the Frederic Malle fragrance for kids, Sale Gosse - it smelled so good on her. But of course I kept making silly comments about it. She was a good sport about it.
    - Talking about L'Eau d'Hiver and Apres l'Ondee with a new BN (sorry I forgot your screen name!) buddy
    - Smelling a bunch of Serge Lutens with RHM's sister and continuously asking the SA for SL scents that we soon realized are not available in the stores (Arabie!)

I managed to get out of Barney's without actually spraying any fragrance on skin - only smelling from tester strips. Do you know hard that is to do?!!

If we do convene in Seattle 2021, let's try to remember to invite Now Smell This contributor Kevin. I just noticed the following Seattle mention in his NST article:

Oh yes, please do think about a Seattle meetup for 2021 in the summer. I can't imagine anything better than escaping the miserable Southern summer heat for a perfume convention in cool, misty Seattle -- my old stomping grounds from the 1980s.

It is a whole month since that beautiful sunny Saturday in Chicago. The cards I sprayed that day are all together in a sealed plastic bag. Though each card still retains its distinct scent, all the smell had melded into an impression, a smell I now associate with a happy memory of the day.

Reading through this thread showed me what I’ve missed out – I wish I could have been with you all for the whole day! But I’m so happy that I had, at least, the chance to spend a couple of hours in your company. Thank you all for making me feel welcome.

Special thanks to Quarry for organising this.
Special thanks to Juxtapozbliss for the local knowledge. Chicago is a great place, but made even more enjoyable with your insider information.
Special thanks to Rynegne for letting me be one of the first to buy Ash & Rose. Palo Santo Plateau has indeed widened my perfume horizon, too.

(That Saturday was my last day in Chicago - early next morning we took the train to Ann Arbor, where I saw this.)
