Default SOTW: Scent of the Week. For those BRAVE souls among us:)

    Hello my fellow BNers!!!

Since January 2019, I embarked on project experiment to get to know my wardrobe better by wearing only 1 (one) fragrance for the entire week!

It has been a journey thus far and I can attest that there a benefits to this. Read my thread about it here: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/460...re!?highlight=

For those who would like to join this, I am starting this SOTW thread as suggested by user Cook.bot

I had to modify my experiment from a 7 day week to a 5 day week...the torture was TOO much

So, your choice of what week means to you, 5 or 7.

Might also do a SOTWend ... stay tuned.

My SotW was nothing. I have worn no fragrance for 10 days. Does that count?
    1. No, never blind buy (I do, but do as I say, not as I do. I'm taking no responsibility for your fragrance gambling).
    2. Get them both. You're a Basenoter and you know you're going to end up purchasing them both eventually.
    3. Yes, it has been reformulated.
    4. Looking for a signature scent? You've come to the wrong place.

I'd honestly get anosmic after day 2 or 3 so I can't. I used to switch beer brands when I drank and cigarette brands when I smoked for the same reason. I adapt too fast.

Let me get up my courage and make a choice and I'll try this starting tomorrow. I have been thinking about doing it anyway.

I like variation also, fear I would grow bored quicker by wearing the same fragrance even for a week. I probably would have felt different about this before I was deep into this hobby but now that I am the thought leans true.

I don't know if it counts but I thought that I was the only one here who took breaks from fragrance. When I do return I often wear the same scent for a week (7 days) and have in the past gone a month wearing the same fragrance ex. Kouros

My SOTW has been Mugler Cologne. I was participating and didn't even know it.

I've gone spotty multi-day this week on a fragrance not in the directory. I am really starting to enjoy it. I'm calling it my SOTW.

    Perry Ellis (2018).

This is an excellent way to get to know your frags thoroughly! I used to do this when I had less frags - I'm at peak frags now around 30+.

    I'm gonna have a go!

I can barely stick to just 1-2 scents in one day. I feel like once I crossed the rubicon of owning 5, then 10, now almost 25 bottles, my days of wearing the same scent for days or weeks on end are over. There was a time when I wore nothing but Terre d'Hermes for a year. But short of ditching my collection, I don't think I could stick to it. Hats off to the rest of you though! I will be reading this thread and curious to hear your experiences.

OK, gonna try this one for 5-7 days since I have had 2 people in the recent past tell me if I EVER decide on a signature scent this is one I should consider

I like This is Him! and Just Rock! But turning This is Him! into an Ambroxan bomb, e.g. Sauvage mixed with the Zadig and Voltaire just seems crass. I guess I should smell it first, but...

I love these challenges! They are hard though Am I allowed to switch to another scent for the evening or is it just one fragrance for SOTD/SOTE in five days?

That sounds more reasonable to me. I think I could stick to wearing the same fragrance for 5 days if I got to pick different SOTD and SOTE.

As promised, I'm all in on this one. Castile will be my SOTD & SOTE through Friday.

I've been wearing it an average of once every three days since the beginning of 2018. I keep expecting to get sick of it, because I've been wearing it so often, but the exact opposite happens instead. The more I wear it, the more I enjoy it. And hooray for that!

Rive Gauche, no sweat! There are a handful of fragrances that I can wear for 1 week +, this happens to be one.

    Others include:
    Vintage Armani Eau PH
    Coach Leatherware 01
    Vintage Azzaro PH
    Patrick by Fragrances of Ireland

I could wear this stuff for a week, easily. Cost literally peanuts when it was sold, and is now long discontinued. You'd be lucky to find a full bottle for under $200 these days.

That sounds like heaven. I just don't want to use up my Egoiste too quickly. I know the current formulation isn't bad, but still.

I've been doing this for about 9 months to a year now, I think. Most of the time, I do end up picking a different scent on Fridays. I will be faithful this week and wear Prada L'Homme all week.
