Starting the month of June with Lemon Sherbet by 4160 Tuesdays. I've learnt something new this year, citrus scents smell so much better on my skin during the colder months & I like how they interact with crisp cold air. In summer, it's very hot here with low to very low humidity most of the time & for some reason citrus heavy scents go flat & get an underlying staleness / mustiness to them but in winter, when we have high humidity dampness with our cold weather, they smell fresh & crisp on my skin - perfect.

Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Saturday, 1st June, 2019

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

I was so busy yesterday I didn't post, I was in Sync for Shycat's White Floral day in one of my new oud decants that has just as many white floral notes as it has wood notes...it's chock full of flowers:

    Vetiver Nocturne by Bortnikoff Perfumes

And in the evening I chose a rose/oud oil that a sample was gifted to me by BN member epapsiou, straight from India I believe - not really my thing (the rose wasn't the kind I like):

I believe it's Rudolf Nureyev and Fonteyn, and the solo photo is YSL's partner Pierre Bourdon.

Edit: My mistake -- the solo photo is perfumer Pierre Bourdon. I had him confused with YSL's partner Pierre Berger.

That's interesting and believable. Our heat is always thick with humidity.

    Hello! How are you?

As Cook.bot mentions, that's YSL with Margot Fonteyn and Rudolf Nureyev at the Kouros launch party. The photo below is that of Pierre Bourdon (a much later photo).

Good morning, everyone and happy Saturday (or Sunday, for some). I'm wearing Bombay Bling as I finish packing for a trip to Korea leaving tonight.

I smelled vintage Kouros at the meetup and I'm definitely anosmic to most of it; it smelled weakly of spices and not much else.

    Bon voyage, kewart!

Having tidied the garden, l've showered & reached for Jasminas for this evening, but picked up my sample of Body Shop Chypre by mistake. lt's not what l'm in the mood for, but l'm going with it anyway. lt's too rare & precious to wash it off.
