Thumbs up Re: SOTD: Sunday, 2nd June, 2019

Have I told you about the scent of jasmine? Have I spoken about the smell of the sea? The earth is scented. And I perfume myself to enhance what I am. That's why I can not wear a perfume that bothers me. Perfuming is an instinctive wisdom. And like all art, it requires some knowledge of yourself..."

Knit, you're the only person I've ever heard mention that Balmain. That's the one that's a tribute to Edith Piaf, right? I regret not getting that before the prices quadrupled.

I think I'll house-twin you today in some vintage Ivoire de Balmain. it can stand up to the high-90s temps here today.

Was just sampling this yesterday. It's pretty gorgeous!

Today I'm wearing Arbole, Arbole by Hiram Green. It's such an odd duck (which, of course, makes it just my thing).

    Good morning,

I’m wearing Copper Skies by Kerosene for the seventh day in a row. I think that’s a record of consecutive wears for me since joining Basenotes. It smells like an auto shop but sweet too. I’ve been exceptionally busy caring for a convalescing relative out of town and I will continue enjoying the one fragrance I brought with me. I purchased a bottle of Copper Skies at the Chicago meetup.

    Have a good day.

I'll be on-site for work next week, leaving ungodly early tomorrow morning and returning Friday. Yuck. I much prefer my remote, work-from-home days. I'm spoiled now.

Taking it easy for a bit before going out to buy and then apply mulch to our young trees to protect the base of their trunks from mowers and trimmers. Then relax. Then pack. Then sleep. More than I want for today, but still not horrible in the grand scheme.

Enjoying more Cedre Sambac. If it lasted longer (only about 2 hours), I'd spring for a full bottle. At what they're selling it for, I feel like I should get at least 4 hours out of it.

YAY, Trilby Lark! So glad you're enjoying Copper Skies! I'm sorry to hear that your relative has been unwell. They're lucky to be in your good, caring hands.

    You smell good.

Wishing you both good trips Foxbins and Kewart!

And now, back to our regularly scheduled program. Rosarium and fuzzy kittens. I've have Bluebell a month and I've seen her for 2 seconds in all that time. This morning I heard these:

    20190602_094048.jpg

I went on to church like a good southern woman but my attention wandered and I kept looking at the clock on the wall thinking about my afternoon of kittens and NBA Finals. I despise the hellfire and brimstone type days. BUT the preacher said "Burning sulfer! Imagine smelling THAT for eternity!" I snapped to and sat up straight and everything.

You steered me right on Copper Skies, my friend! It just might become my signature go-to scent, when I don’t feel compelled to wear something else. The house and nose’s Detroit auto industry connection are very interesting. The height of niche perfumery in my opinion.
