I tried all the Fumee flankers a few months ago, and had that same disappointment from all of them. But, unlike Freewheeling, I get great performance from the original La Fumee, and it's become quite a favorite. It's kind of hard to find a good smoke scent that's not all butched up for the guys.

Is that the bottle I sent you? That one had moderate/good duration and low/close sillage for me (around 10 sprays).

Yes it is! I get the same results with ~5 sprays, but then I don't have your notorious spraying habits.

Your irises are beautiful! My periwinkle ones didn’t bloom this season; maybe they’re rootbound. But the white ones bloomed over a month ago and I miss them.

I’m wearing Shalimar Eau Legere today from your sample. It’s been a rough week at work and I needed cheering up.

Ooooo. Don't know where to locate these new Chopards, but sounds like I should make the effort.

(((Trilby))), I hope that it's easier doing these caregiver things for your FIL than one's own father. That's how DH and I swapped and managed our respective fathers' final years.

This afternoon I'm comparing Nicolai's Cap Neroli and Cologne Sologne. Happy to observe that my less-expensive CS wins the competition. CN has a hot, bitter note I really don't care for. It was not obvious when I smelled the sweet orange notes from the vial. I have called Cologne Sologne "my neroli," but I'm made aware by this experiment how truly "cologne" it is with that mild vinegar-cole-slaw scent I associate with traditional colognes.

Very fine pottering today, which I think is qualified by the variety of tools deployed: shovel, hoe, rake, ladder, hammer, pliers, watering can, garden cart, wire, vise, and super glue.

ETA: I like the photo-bombing jumping spider. The iris is beautiful, PL. Too bad the petals are so fleeting.

    Beautiful photo, PerfumedLady!

Trilby, hope your father-in-law is ok.

Kotori, hope your week gets better!

Q, good to see you pottering.

La Fumee fans, have you tried Goutal's Encens Flamboyant? lt's a good alternative, with excellent projection & longevity.

Rose Jam for me this evening.

Thanks, folks! Yes, if only they bloomed longer, sigh. Kotori, is your clump of iris very big and/or old? They might just need to be divided, that'll usually refresh them. And, it'll give you new, free plants! Sending a hug to go with that Eau Legere; may the rest of the workweek go more smoothly!

It got muggier than all get out today! Going with some Chanel Eau de Cologne for evening.

Thanks teardrop! You smell great! I think they only make that in body spray now.

I appreciate the hug! Hugs back! I inherited those irises. I divided the white ones two years ago, but maybe I forgot to divide the periwinkle ones. I’ll take a look in the Fall. Eau Legere is such a perfect summer oriental.

    A wonderful photo PL

If you're going to cast some enablement over me, I think I ought to do so in return. What goes around comes around

I'm open to some Dior sniffing. It be nice to take a breather away from Chanel and Guerlain every now and then anyways.
