    Cool Booze

I love booze, whether it be drinking booze or smelling like booze. Sometimes I even drink a bit too much and spill some booze onto my already booze perfume skin. Hmmm. Smells great
What are your favorite boozy fragrances? What are the fragrances that make you run for the liquor cabinet? I think we all know Pure Malt, so anything but that. I want the sleepers!

    Some of my favorites:
    -Parfums d'Empire Ambre Russe
    -Nasomatto Baraonda
    -By Killian Single Malt
    -Bentley For Men Intense
    -Frapin Speakeasy
Currently wearing: African Leather by Memo

Cooper Square by bond no. 9 is SUPER boozy. top notes listed include cognac and juniper berries (gin). It actually is quite nice but very strong and very very boozy. Not for everyone.

+1 Baraonda, a great take on booze.

Also adding Velvet Exotic Leather to the list. Imagine The One with added booze and a touch of leather. Mmmm....

I would love to find something that smells like dark, very spiced rum. Kraken is incredibly spicy, and if turned into a fragrance would make a fantastic boozy gourmand scent.

The regular Bentley for Men is boozier than the Intense, to my nose. Wears lighter than the intense but far from sheer. Worth a sniff for the price you can get it for.

    Baque from Slumberhouse
    Booze and Baccy Captain Fawcett

Those both are rummy tobacco notes.

Michael Kors Michael for Men (Givenchy-produced vintage) deserves a mention. One of my favorites.

One I've been wearing and enjoying lately is Bvlgari Man Black Orient, a very well-done "designer" take on Middle Eastern rose-and-oud fragrances with a really lovely boozy leather thing going on. Despite all those potentially provocative elements and some good longevity, it's pretty well-behaved. It's a boozy-leather-oud scent that you can wear to the office.

Besides Straight to Heaven and Single Malt (my personal favorite for a boozy scent), Kilian also makes Apple Brandy.

However, I find it very similar to Single Malt, so I don't know if you'd want both of them.

MMM Jazz Club (not my favourite, but still, much better than Bentley Intense)
Terenzi Laudano Nero (what Bentley Intense dreams to be, and will not even remotely ever manage to be)
Zegna Passion (niche quality, and unfortunately also niche pricing)

Straight to Heaven is the only booze scent I've tried - curious though if anyone can recommend something close to Maker's Mark, or another smooth, wheat-heavy bourbon? I sometimes think that I like the smell of Maker's Mark better than the flavor. Can't choose! But I've always dreamt of a Maker's Mark EdT

You could look out for Olivina Bourbon Cedar (though you do have to like cedar to get along with that one).

Sounds like we'll have to limit our discussions to tobacco, and avoid the booze theme, Brooks!

We can't agree on everything, though I'm curious if we agree on vintage Michael for Men, which is one of my favorite entries in both categories. (And, yes, it's much more nuanced, sophisticated, and praiseworthy than Bentley for Men Intense.)

Still, I do think Bentley for Men Intense is a neat little thing, not quite worthy of canonization but still a distinctive entry in the field of recent designer masculines. It's a kind of brute-force descendant of Guerlain Heritage that smartly uses the fuzziness of its synthetic components to capture the essence of its automotive namesake. Jazz Club strikes me as being comparatively undercooked (Jazz Club would benefit from pushing some of its notes further than it does).

I'll be on the lookout for that one. I love cedar so that sounds like a good possibility.

In addition to so many of the great names already mentioned, Idole de Lubin EDP (along with almost any male/unisex Lubin EDP), Pure Malt Creation, also-if taking into consideration just minimal booze with more pronounced notes of complex, often vanillic/spicy tobacco, Havana by Aramis and Chergui by Serge Lutens, Eau de Baux for slightly medicinal booze with (again) lots of vanilla, Siwa by Memo Paris being even stronger dominant on vanilla but also with a whiskey note, while D& G The One EDP and Intenso, Lalique L'Insoumis and CK One Shock manage to bring some minimal boozy hints to a their gourmand tobacco dominant and Burberry London can convey a quite good port and/or dessert wine note

Been hearing about Frapin Speakeasy a lot. Haven't had a chance to try it, but I am intrigued. Anyone care to share their thoughts in further detail about this one? What does it make you think of? How does it make you feel? How strong is the boozy note?
