La Pausa would be my holy grail Iris for its woody and leathery characteristics. Hiris is another that has not got a lot of mention but a soft creamy off white iris, dry and powdery its one of my favourites as well as Paprika Brasil from the Hermessence which is mostly Iris in the dry woody spicy variety that i prefer to Iris Ukoyie as the grapefruit sours on my skin.
Chanel's Poudre has the highest concentration of orris from all No. 19's but it gets the least amount of attention. Iris Poudre by Malle is another beauty but you must wait for the dry down to get to the iris.
I would stay away from some of the masculine designers with the exception of Dior Homme or Prada D'Infusions when looking for an authentic iris as a lot of them are overly sweet copy cats.

I have heard some good things about Iris Poudre, so I'll add that to my ever-growing list. Thank you!

Is this one pretty masculine-leaning or would you say it's more unisex?

wasn't he wonderful in the part? Nobody could do that impish part.

you know he agreed to do the movie only on condition that he could do a somersault when he first appears

“When I make my first entrance. I’d like to come out of the door carrying a cane and then walk toward the crowd with a limp. After the crowd sees Willy Wonka is a cripple, they all whisper to themselves and then become deathly quiet. As I walk toward them, my cane sinks into one of the cobblestones I’m walking on and stands straight up, by itself; but I keep on walking, until I realize that I no longer have my cane. I start to fall forward, and just before I hit the ground, I do a beautiful forward somersault and bounce back up, to great applause.”

Argh. Now that I've fallen deeply in love with the Xerjoff, it is nowhere to be found. I have investigated practically every online store and they are all out.

Does anyone know of a distributor for Irisss? I'm willing to buy from an international venue, if necessary.

Looks like eBay has a seller in Norway offering 5ml decants, and there's a Russian seller offering a full bottle for $707.

Looks like Essenza Nobile has a full bottle for €420—add a bottle of something else and you can easily work your way to free shipping!

I'm contacting them to see if they do, indeed, have this in stock. I've had 4 disappointments on this front, with that many perfume companies claiming they had it, only to discover, once I paid, that they didn't actually have any to send me.

Doesn't Germany have stricter shipping restrictions now? Correct me if I'm wrong but Essenza Nobile was affected by these restrictions. It used to be a great way to secure Xerjoff bottles particularly the more expensive 17/17 bottles at a more affordable price.

Apologies for digressing here but they actually have this in a 50ml bottle? I was under the impression one could only buy this in the big ass 100ml bottle. (LuckyScent)... That 50ml is the perfect size. Thumbs up!!

Wow. So they no longer ship to the US (even though their site claims otherwise)?

I believe there are ways around it but it will be much more expensive. I think you can get bottles shipped by approach of DHL .
    http://www.basenotes.net/threads/445...Essenza-Nobile

I had this exact problem 2 years ago when I wanted to purchase my 100ml Irisss bottle for at a discount from Essenza Nobile. Luckily I caught a break elsewhere.

I know they also have increased shipping prices that year:

They only use DHL now to the US to ship hazardous goods as well as First in Fragrance. There is a much higher total purchase threshold to get free shipping (550 Euros at FIF), and minimum purchases at least at FIF is 400 Euros. At Essenze Nobile it's comparable. Fragrances arrive in two days.

Yup. That's the great benefit of DHL Express. For example, if you order Sunday night, they process your order on Monday and you have your fragrances on Wednesday. It's like this now with most large European online retailers under new regulations like Jovoy in Paris, FIF and Essenze in Germany. If you don't meet the free shipping threshold, you have to pay shipping which is roughly between 40 and 60 Euros. As my orders are always large, I never pay shipping. At Jovoy it's a little better because you only have to spend 350 Euros for free shipping.

hednic do you personally collect Xerjoff bottles?
I just looked at Jovoy in Paris the 100ml bottles are way cheaper 630,00 € versus 840,00 € on essenza-nobile

Some food for thought should I consider a replacement bottle for Irisss down the road.

Yes, a very iffy market. I know a seller who's had great experiences with Russian outlets, but at $700 it's a huge risk.

    Okay, so today I sampled:

Feu Secret - I wish I could like this one more. It's very unique, but I don't think I'm quite a fan of the turmeric-eucalyptus combo

Iris de Nuit - A little too light and dainty for me

Iris Bleu Gris - Way too much like masculine aftershave

Yup, I should never have started with Irisss. Nothing else smells even close. Tomorrow I get a decant of the newish Iris Silver Mist. Hopefully I'll be blown away and can forget my obsession with the Xerjoff.

And on Saturday you should have a decant of Chanel No. 19 extrait. Fingers crossed for you.

I have an ominous feeling, though, that nothing's going to quite hit the spot for you like the Xerjoff. I made a similar mistake when I decided to explore vetivers: I started with Chanel Sycomore, and nothing since has ever scratched that itch in quite the same way.
