    Default Cherry note used in patchouli gourmonds?

    Blu Colbaltoi by stories veneziane smells like a dark bitter chocolate with a liquor cherry inside.
    Notes are; cocoa, benzoin, patchouli, cherry and bourbon.

    Any clue what the dark cherry note could be?
    Additionally, this perfume has a green note which further bitters the drydown. This is pure dark, bitter cocoa drydown. Any clue what green notes might go well with cocoa?

    I have no personal experience, but due to my books, cherry effect is achieved by little amounts of bitter almond (Prunus dulcis/amygdalus var. amara).

    I have some bitter almond coming in today so I will start working with it and see how much of a cherry effect it has.

    The bitter almond is like a maraschino cherry. Methyl Acetophenone smells more like a fruity vanilla cherry to me.

    For me, an explicit shade of cherry gives a mixture of coumarin and anisyl acetate. You can also use 4-methyl benzaldehyde (it is very strong!) And in any case, you will need to create a accord of this dark cherry note using many components.
