Happy Birthday, Bavard, and many happy returns!

I am feeling inferior today. Possibly because I am inferior. Q, my yard is the worst yard on the street. I've not put out any flowers this year or anything, never did the final top trims of the shubbery although I'm sure my praying mantis egg case will have hatched by now, never carried the burnable crepe myrtle wood around to the back. It's still stacked in front. This, just when all my neighbors seem to have done a spectacular display. Heh, heh. It's good that they get the chance to feel like winners, so really when you think about it, I'm doing them a favor.

BAM. By God, I can rationalize ANYTHING. Which segs me into my latest blind buy by Shay $ Blue-- White Peaches. I'm on a Stella Rosa Peach "wine" binge...over ice with a splash of 360 Georgia Peach vodka. I must stop this. Too much sugar, too many calories. As always, I can't be on a food diet and a perfume diet at the same time. RATIONALIZE.

Today, I am going to move that wood, finish cutting it up into fire size pieces for fall fires in my backyard.

Today, I am going to bite a big f-ing bullet and resize one of my rayon tank dresses so that my bra strap won't show in the armscye. Seems simple enough....so simple that I am going to pin it, baste it, and finally sew it. I'll be slightly adjusting the shoulder seam, the side seam, and adding two small armscye darts, hopefully without cutting into the front embroidery.

I'm looking in my wardrobe for something that radiates confidence and competence, all the while exuding calm. Chanel No. 19 it is.
A bull in a china shop doesn't take damage. She delivers it. It's The Great Shy Purge of 2019.

Happiest of Birthdays Bavard! I hope it's been a scent-sational day so far !!

I've moved. It's done. I'm officially vagabond-ish. Spending 6 weeks with my brother and his family near Seattle before settling down in Tennessee. It's been lovely catching up with everyone, especially my nieces, and at the same time I miss my friends in SF. Normal stuff.

Today I'm in Mandarine by Il Profumo. It's wonderful - I get the whole fruit including stems, leaves, oily skin and pulp. If only it lasted more than 2-3 hours. Used up my sample quickly.

Ryan, thank you for sharing your dad's sentimental tears with us. Part of the change that comes with aging is due to a rebalancing of testosterone and estrogen. Both men and women experience a tip in the opposite direction, and men are often surprised by their new depth of feelings.

Hazel, what a fun thing to be a vagabond by choice with new horizons to anticipate.

ExtremeK, four personalities -- I think that sounds like a Mexican standoff.

Made good progress on the project du jour -- the thinkie engineering part is all squared away, so just one more session with soil, rock and plants, and I check that area off my list. Shycat, your rationalizations sound entirely rational to me.

I applied a little Rose de Mai and Rose Flash post shower, but samples showed up in the mail and, of course, I have to uncork them. I was excited when I first smelled Dasein Winter, but now I can't pick it up at all no matter how I try -- not from the vial or on my skin. Wha? Where'd the pretty spruce go?

Shycat, another beautiful post today. Happy birthday, Bavard.

I’m wearing Oud Ispahan today. I met CapriDog today in person and we spent over three hours discussing and trying perfumes. He’s a dedicated enthusiast!

    Have a good day.

That's awesome sweetie. Good for you.

I sort of don't want to take a shower tonight because it will wash off my Irisss but it's incredibly humid here...I'm gonna have to soon. I am gonna wear something comforting, like I usually do on a Monday evening after a whole day in the office...I'm thinking:

Hazel5, have a nice time with family! Moving is emotionally difficult, I hope you'll like living in your new home when you finally finish moving. Hugs.

    Shycat
, I always love reading your posts - even when you write about sad things. You are a master of words. Who needs a neat garden when they can paint images and emotions with their words? And just like Quarry, I also see your rationalizing as entirely rational.

Quarry, great to know your project is moving along! You're doing a great job.

Trilby, it seems you and CapriDog had a great time. It's great to see basenotes friendships blooming in real life!
