Interlude wins in the sillage and longevity department but I personally prefer the smell of Epic.

Own the vintage Interlude which is a beauty and an absolute fav of mine.
Had some samples of the vintage Epic which was also beautiful but the newer version is still ok but imo way too linear and lacks a certain depth the vtg did have.
Both last till one has to go to sleep so no problems on that part.....

    This.

And I speak as someone that has worn Epic since 2012 and tried Interlude since the day it came out.

Can be hard to answer it as a poll if someone thinks Interlude Man lasts longer, but prefers the smell of Epic Man. Keep polls simple.

However, as far as smell - Interlude Man, by far. Epic Man has this super annoying screechy 'wood' aspect that's complete trash. Might be norlimbanol.

To be fair, when I tried both back in 2016 I too thought Epic smelled a tiny little bit better but was way weaker than Interlude. That's why Interlude is better.

I own both non-magnetic versions, I don't really wear either of them very often, although I prefer Interlude.

My wife likes Interlude, she isn't a fan of Epic.

My wife might take issue with me getting rid of Interlude Man, she does wear it from time to time as FragFrog was suggesting. She is also a big fan of Interlude Woman.

Epic is far more wearable and versatile. Interlude should be maybe the 4th or 5th Amouage in a collection. Epic, Reflection and Jubi are the first 3 that should be purchased IMO.

I voted for Interlude because I enjoy it more, but both are very high quality. The way to judge which is "better" is to smell them both and let your nose decide which smell you enjoy more.

Which is better: Pizza with mushrooms or pizza with olives? I hate olives. A friend of mine hates mushrooms. Smells work the same way. Different people enjoy different things.

That being said... as for performance, there aren't many scents by any house that beat Interlude. It's a 24 hour beast. I can only wear 2 sprays, and my bottle has the weakest sprayer of anything I own. It barely puts out any juice! And yet, 2 sprays are enough for 24 hours. Actually, I have no idea how long Interlude really lasts because I bathe. If you don't take a shower or a bath the next day, I'd bet it goes 48 friggin' hours.

I think it's strange when people care more about performance than smell though. That's like judging movies by how long they are instead of whether or not you enjoy them.

For me it’s Interlude by a long shot. Epic wears so dry it bothers my throat. I do think it’s nice to see Epic getting some love here- I was under the impression that it didn’t have much of a fan base.

The norlimbanol was added (or amped) when it was rejigged post 2014 or 2015. That's when I went off it a bit and then came back to it more recently. The scent isn't what it was when it was first released - spice and incense galore.

That said, I have got my hands on two non magnetic cap bottles and both were a complete disappointment. Either those that I got it from were both dodgy sellers or this scent simply doesn't age well. I'm beginning to think it's the latter...

I liked this analogy with the length of movies - hadn't seen this perspective before. I'm going to steal it

Also, every time I read one of your enthusiastic posts about Interlude, it makes me want to go out and try it. Again.

Interesting perspective. I had Epic first, then Homage Attar, followed by Jubilation. I am currently evaluating Reflection which seems to be one I've neglected but I need to see how it wear on my skin before deciding.

But I really like your perspective on this, Nick.

Interlude if I really had to chose but Epic without that current off note (norlimbanol) as mentioned by rum is a piece of art as well imo!

Not a fan of either but Epic is tolerable. Interlude if you want smell like oregano, it sticks out like a sore thumb on my skin and I can smell nothing else. Scent goes to Epic man, longevity goes to Interlude.
