Great thread cacio. I'm jealous that you got to see the exhibition at The Met - I will miss it, as I won't be in NYC this year.

A camp scent that came to mind, as soon as I saw the title of this thread, is Cumming by Alan Cumming.

This thread and the wonderful explanations from slightly different perspectives arrived just in time for that new Carolina Herrera "Bad Boy" bottle, with its shiny black lightning-bolt stiletto heel profile parked up like a trophy on a little golden stand, which at just the right angle hints at - oh, never mind. Somebody wake up Mel Brooks.

    Classic Brooks!

I was corrupted to love that style by the 1-2 punch of "A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum" (non-Brooks) and then "The Producers". Young Frankenstein for sure! Oddly, I didn't really appreciate his later stuff until much later in life, seeing it again. What a crew! I get a chuckle just seeing their names!

Camp is an aesthetic style and sensibility that regards something as appealing because of its bad taste and ironic value

Can't remember how it smells. Should have kept a sample really.

I had forgotten about Sex Appeal. Definitely falls in the sincere camp field.

I tried it after LT's good review. And it does smell traditional, but it was so fleeting. I wonder if vintage was more long lasting.

    Thats the perfect definition.

For example: Versace aesthetic is Camp. B. Spears is Kitsch.
