On A somber note, I learned that one my sample passes, The Zoo, had a sudden turn of unfortunate events. In short some samples were lost mysteriously in transit. As a result the folks over in Europe won't get to try all of the fragrances offered. I really don't know what to think of it except it being a very un-lucky accident. I'm waiting to hear back from one of the participants in the pass of any updates. It's a very crappy feeling overall. I only hope that it was a fluke or some kind of freak accident.

Today I will be wearing Creed Virgin Island Water

I wish This is the modern formulation. Nice, but a littlebit " fresher" than I remember the older formulation to be

Aw, I'm sorry to read your sample pass news, N.Cal! I stopped shipping out of the continental US altogether some years ago, sadly. I had an entire package go missing, though thankfully not a sample pass. In your case, it does sound more like an accident than confiscation, which I suppose is the bright side -though little consolation.

I'm deeply impressed by your four heat settings, as I'm sure you could guess, foxbins!

Apres l'Ondee for me this morning.

Made a very distressing discovery last night, my 50ml split of Profumum Rosae Mundi has fallen victim to evaporation/oxidization. :-( It no longer smells the same, to the point where I can’t even wear it any more. A big loss since it was $$$ and I loved it. Sniff. So today’s job is to go through all my decants and seal them as best I can. I will only be buying manufacturer’s bottles from now on, since I have a large collection and I can’t finish things quickly. Hard lesson learned.

I am going to wear SL Chêne today, which will be the coolest this week at only 20C.

    Hello all!

    N. CAL, I'm sorry to hear about the post accident with the fragrance pass Hopefully these samples will get un-lost in the mail! Were they still in USA or already in Europe? I have experience only with European post, but from what I've experienced, mail from Italy, Spain, Portugal and Greece tends to get stuck and arrive very late and there's usually no delays or lost mail from Middle, Eastern and Northern Europe.

teardrop, I hope you'll enjoy your new haircut!

foxbins, I'm glad your new toilet seat has arrived and has four different settings!
It was such a pleasure reading two days' worth of butt jokes inspired by your purchase! What can I say - warm butt is a happy butt, and happy butt is a happy owner of said butt! Happy sitting!

Yesterday I didn't wear anything until evening when I tested three different versions of Fahrenheit (loved them all), and today I'm happily in fresh, citrusy and zingy Les Amoureux de Peynet by Molinard.

I feel for you, cazaubon and N.Cal. At least you know BNers can commiserate with your particular sense of loss.

Well, surprise. It's raining. Again. Or Still. Greetings from The Mudlands.

I remembered why I ordered a sample of Hiram Green Shangri La -- all the chat about it being a natural Mitsouko-alike with softer edges. I could have taken reviewers at their word, cuz it's exactly as described. It had amazing longevity.

Trilby, I imagine your Gucci sunglasses go really well with a Nissan sports car and Oud Ispahan. Who's a lucky, happy girl?

I keep a bar of JM Pomegranate Noir in my undies drawer, and on this cool, gray morn, its spicey warmth hooked me, so I've sneaked a squirt of PN onto my neck. Like half my wardrobe, DH doesn't like it, so I'm keeping my distance from him.

It almost literally doesn't stop...We've only had a handful of nice days this spring. Thankfully, our meetup day was one of those. I'm not a fan of hot-hot heat but anything to avoid these drab bouts of wet-cool weather. I think our winter was long enough.

I'm wearing Tom Ford Fougere d'Argent which garners a strong MEH from me.

    Thanks, ClockworkAlice!

The sunshine didn't last long this morning, & soon the rain was coming down again. lt is indeed a disappointing summer so far. l don't want it too hot either, but a few days of sunshine would be nice!

l had a mooch around some of the sales today, but wasn't inspired by anything. l did try Soleil by Fragonard on paper while l was in Marks & Spencers - that bottle is so cute! - but unfortunately it's a white floral of the screechy & headache-inducing kind, & l've had to move the paper strip into another room to stop it overpowering me.

Still enjoying the drydown of And the World is Yours this evening.
