    Morning all!

Welcome back, kewart! Looks like you brought some sun back with you. We've had cool weather & lots of rain in the UK over the last couple of weeks. There are also rumours of thunderstorms coming your way tomorrow, too!

l'll be making the most of today's sunshine by getting out in the garden today. l think l'll go with a more liberal application of Golden Paradise for that sunkissed feeling.

I'm so used to waking up at 6 am for Cross Fit or the gym, to be able to sleep in until 9 am is so awesome. Although, it is *so* sunny in the mornings now.

I am still waking up but I keep some of my ouds and attars right next to my PC and my desk (instead of inside my Wardrobe) so I wear them more - I tend to forget about them if I leave them with the others. I am wearing the last drops of:

Omani Frankincense Special Reserve by Rising Phoenix

I only have a few drops left because about a week ago, when applying it, the bottle slipped out of my hands and spilled all over the carpet. I lost about 3/4 of it, and I'd already worn almost 1/4 of it. So...I will have to buy another one of these. It's not too pricey of a loss, the 3 gram glass bottle only cost me $65. It won't be too expensive to replace. I'd imagine it's significantly less in price then hednic's SOTD from Clive Christian (wink). I think this is a very special oil. I have worn incense fragrances for +10 years and I've burned a lot of incense and I've never encountered an oil with this depth, and smelling so realistically like burning frankincense.

Kewart - welcome back. I've never been to France at all, but I used to work for a Parisian for many years and of course one of these days I want to go. A new friend of mine is headed to Grasse for 2 weeks soon. I'm living vicariously through all of you.

teardrop - yesterday I forgot to post about your In Sync SOTD - that Hawaiian Tropic scent. I hadn't heard about it before you posted it. Did you buy it at a local store? Was it expensive? Is it this one: https://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/...ise-43768.html

rynegne - how did you like Lavender Palm? I smelled it when it first came out, liked it, bought a mini on eBay, and then didn't like it at all when it arrived. I gave it to a friend who's very much into vintage masculine scents and he loved it, used it up immediately and bought a full bottle. I told him about Lavender Extreme, which I know you also own.

Quarry - You wore Cologne Sologne yesterday - are you familiar with Haute Provence by PdN? I just got a decant. I want to splash it all over today also.

Good morning from stormy St. Louis, MO.

The storm fronts have been rolling through for days & triggering headaches. I'm hesitant to just grab a fragrance, as some exacerbate the pain. I

'm craving a soothing lavender centric scent but I'm not sure I have one. I'll research my wardrobe & revisit this thread.

Perfect! DSH's Au Crépuscule de Lavande {In the Lavender Twilight}. (It's not in the directory.)

This is what Dawn says about ACdL on her website: "A candied fougere retro nouveau perfume: sweet and delicious lavender mixed with dense, golden, resinous immortelle, myrrh, and tonka bean. The aldehydes and blackberry top notes make this unlike the aromatherapy lavender versions we are all so familiar with. Instead it’s a beautiful perfume filled with a deeply felt medicine for the soul… it’s joyful and restful at the same time."

    Hello all,

I’m wearing Mugler Cuir Impertinent. I’m cleaning my brains out today by washing down the wainscoting in the dining room. I find voluntary housework therapeutic. Plus, I get a good calorie burn to maintain my girlish figure. Much more enjoyable than formal exercise, in my opinion. Later, I’ll take the mister out for Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride in my new sports car.

    Have a good day.

    Happy Saturday, Basenotes friends!

TrilbyLark, congratulations on your new car! Quarry's right: I can totally picture you in those fantastic Gucci sunglasses, tooling up the PCH with the windows down! Enjoy it

So what unkillable plants did you find, foxbins?

Ahhh, time off: no "shoulds," just want-tos. My idea of bliss.

I'm doing a side-by-side sampling of Jubilation 25 and Diaghilev. I smell awesome.

ETA: nearly forgot to answer your question, NCal -- no, I've never worn ANYTHING for a week straight. My nose would rebel. It likes to mix things up!

mike, yes, that's the one! lt was very cheap, about £10 for a big bottle. l bought it from Boots.

After mowing the lawn, l found it was warm enough today to sunbathe for the first time this year. And not so hot that l needed the beach umbrella. Perfect!

Now that l've got my tan started, l'm showered & wearing the oh-so-appropriate Ensoleille Moi this evening.

Blow his hair back, Trilby. Heh heh. What color car did you choose? Moving right along to therapeutic housework as a form of exercise: to me, that just pairs one hell with another hell. Double hell. I'll have to meditate on it.

I'm in Shay & Blue White Peaches until it dripped off my elbow. It's fair. Peachy. Sweet in a thick, syrupy way with a mildly screechy wood-esque underpinning. Strikes me as low end department store, but then I can't keep drinking all my peaches or somebody will suggest double hell might be good for me. I did get some exercise this morning by pruning some weight off my fence--sadly, 1/4 of my neighbors tulip popular tree split off and came in into my yard. No damage, thankfully. I took a picture of Ava Gardner daylily while I was out there --

Trilby Lark, I'm so happy for you! And laughing about the Honda Fit being the "big car" in the family now.

Jon, I hope you enjoy your week off!

Kewart, your vacation sounds wonderful and so do pics.

ExtremeK, "Plants You Can't Kill" should have been titled "Plants the Author Can't Kill." I've killed off many from her offerings--hostas, coleus, blue fescue, Boston fern--I hit the fern entry and knew I was reading the wrong book. I am starting to think that artificial flowers might pass scrutiny from the street, especially if I mauled them a bit so they didn't look perfect.

Still sampling the Chicago haul, and realizing that Mohamed from Nordstrom's apparently sent me the entire Acqua di Parma line. This may take awhile. Today's sample is Rouge 2 from Micallef. It's a fruity floral thing.
