    Default Oriental Floral Recommendations?

Hello everyone, I have started to learn more about the different fragrances I like, and I have discovered that I am very interested in some fragrances which belong to the group called "oriental floral", or sometimes "oriental cyphere."

Some examples are Dior Addict, Tom Ford Black Orchid, and Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium. I found that many of them have notes such as vanilla, incense, tonka bean, and maybe some flowers.

Can you please recommend some other ones which I might like, especially if they are suitable for wearing in hot weather?

I don't care if the fragrances are for men, women, or unisex.

So far, I have added Chanel Coco Mademoiselle, Dior Hypnotic Poison, Guerlain Shalimar, and Yves Saint Laurent Opium to my list. Are those ones I should try? Thank you in advance for any suggestions you can offer!

Shalimar and Opium are the two reference orientals, so you should definitely try them. Shalimar is more vanillic and Opium more spicy-clovey. They are not particularly floral though (though Opium does have flowers). Coco mad falls in the floral oriental category, it has clean patchouli and it's a bit too sweet for my taste, but you should enjoy. Dior Hypnotic poison has a nice almond note.

If you want to explore more expensive territory, Amouage does some great florientals (like Ubar).

One that comes to mind would be Guerlain Angelique Noire. It focuses on the notes angelica and vanilla. A very beautiful scent.

Another one to try would be Guerlain L'Instant. It focuses on vanilla but also magnolia and iris florals, a wonderful choice.

l'm fond of "florientals", too! My favourite is Guerlain's Samsara, a beautiful jasmine with sandalwood that's wearable all year round.

Bulgari Jasmin Noir is another nice option.

l'll also recommend Mugler's Alien: jasmine with woody amber. You may prefer the Essence Absolue version, which leans more oriental with the addition of vanilla & incense.

How could I forget Samsara, one of my favorite sandalwood scents.

I could as Chanel Egoiste given that it has a rose floral in addition to the vanilla, cinnamon, tobacco and sandalwood notes.

Also adding Feminite du Bois either by Lutens or the vintage version by Shiseido (either are usually good/affordable value for money priced and/or exceptional performance versions of an exquisite floral oriental of benchmark/iconic quality and creativity levels.

Rich and resourceful on florals, sandalwood, slight, faint leathery and powdery tones, along with most or at least some of the further Oriental notes that can make such fragrance style deservedly and truly stand out
