    Hello all,

I’m wearing Satori today. The name alone puts me in a Zen frame of mind.

I’m trying to decide which of four shades of blue nail polish to wear. The lightest, Chanel’s Bleu Pastel, seems to be winning out. Blue is becoming my signature color, at least during summer.

    Have a good day.
Note to self: Choose being kind over being right, and you’ll be right every time.

Thanks, Q! lt's been a much better day at work today, although the energy-sapping humidity is getting to me. Only two more days until the weekend!

Perfume vibes are a mysterious thing between scent sisters--I did not read the SOTD posts before I put on Mysore Lime, twinning with ExtremeK!
Today was "let's poop and then scratch the volunteer" day at the humane society. Much clean up of bad-smelling bedding and befouled kittens plus two bandaids needed, but I would rather have them agitated than lethargic coming out of anesthesia.

Making a list of more Rogue fragrances I should sample. Someone yesterday on NST recommended Flos Mortis, too.

Happy BN-iversary, ExtremeK. It's we who celebrate your time here.
HoP, yay for the 4,000 posts. Here's hoping the sliced digit doesn't slow down your next 4,000.
Teardrop and Ryan, I wince when you talk about going to work. Wishing you the best attitude possible when I know you'd rather be pottering elsewhere.
Kewart, I need your husband to beat me over the head with: "look at what you've already achieved rather than what lies ahead." I'm such a dunce about that life lesson.
Cook.bot, I'm happy you're blissed out by a fragrance, but I don't like you speechless, cuz you always entertain.
Foxbins, I look forward to your taking us with you to India and the Smithsonian.

I mailed my one, lone client an invoice today along with a dozen perfume samples. She's my only pre-BN friend into scents. Figured the smellies would soften the blow of the billing.

USPS tracking says my bottle of Dasein Winter should arrive today, and I was going to hold out to make it sotd. A wintry spruce/pine scent feels so appropriately chill at this baked time of year. But I can't go naked any longer. I am very much enjoying Stephanie by Michael Storer ... WHOOPS! DH just walked in, “Mail call!" There's my Winter and samples. I'll probably go multi-stink myself now.

I'm in Penhaligon's Lavandula, my hot weather lavender. Most of the year, Jersey hits the spot, and I've also been thinking I probably need some Jicky for variety. On stinking muggy days though, only the spiky crispness of Lavandula will soothe my lavender cravings.

Shiny happy orangey synth lavender and calone polished bright with hedione and padded out by geranium and sage on a synthetic sandal and oakmoss base greened up just a touch with a barely-there vetiver. Aromachem soup holds it together and it smells rather linear, just very very sterling in execution like the later Platinum Égoïste.

I love the description for something I cannot REMEMBER what the deuce it smelled of!! I'm sure it smells great. Back in the day, I probably paid ten bucks for the mini, and If I recall, it was a generous size...

It's a super harmless fragrance that doesn't scream but stays noticeable longer than most modern things. It's difficult to dislike unless you're one of those niche tastemaker/price snob types of people that needs 30-note pyramids, density like a sheet of lead, and a $500 pricetag.

    YAY, scent sisters!!!

Maybe it's been the lime effect, but I'm in a tropical kind of mood tonight, so I'm going with the sublimely odd Felanilla -- not quite vanilla, not quite banana, not quite woods. Far more than the sum of its parts. Notes per Luckyscent are vanilla absolute, saffron, orris, banana wood, hay absolute, and amber. I smell a soupçon of something orange-y, too.

I remember that, my then BF used to steal some to wear. He was picky so, it must have been good.
