    Morning all!

Congrats to Q on finishing the fence!

Jon, l've seen those in my garden on occasion, & quite a few times in Greece, but never managed to photograph one. They are truly amazing, aren't they? Well done for getting a pic!

We'll be driving out to a country pub again for lunch today. SOTD as yet undecided...

Hello and best to everyone. Happy birthday, staticx!
    Jon, spectacular photo!

SOTD is Rochas Tocadilly: notes include cucumber, lilac, hyacinth, pear, jasmine, tiare, mallow, mimosa, mandarin, glycine/wisteria, coconut, heliotrope, sandalwood, musk and amber.

Ignore the garish note listing and packaging. Tocadilly is a lovely floral, airy and fresh and dewy without resorting to the dreadful calone. And the nose is Christopher Sheldrake.

    Enjoy your day, all.

Weeee! Great moth! I've seen our PA version but, they never have that much golden color on them. At least I don't think they do - I've usually had them buzzing around me, at night, in the woods, attracted by campfire.

Loving the photo, Jon. What flower is the hawk moth visiting, do you know? Cazaubon, these moths are often mistaken for hummingbirds as there flight patterns and size are similar to those birds. I haven't seen a hawk moth in decades. Our moth and butterfly numbers are almost non-existent. They've been declining for years, and biologists note the same. Anybody remember how your parents' car's windshield and grill used to get plastered by bugs? That used to be normal.

I still can't get Mr. Kewart's wise attitude about enjoying what one has accomplished. The fence completion is already forgotten as I pout over how it's gotten too hot to do the next 6 things on my list. Pout! Pout! Pout! Somebody slap me.

Maybe some Le Labo Lys 41 will sweeten me up: Lily, jasmine, tuberose, woods, vanilla, tiare, solar accord, musk.

Teardrop, is this the sort of tropical floral that appeals to you?

Absolutely gorgeous moth photos from HoP and Jon! HoP, a friend of mine photographed the same kind of moth as yours perched on the side of a tree in her backyard two days ago. I have never in my life seen that kind of moth here, but it is really beautiful!

I wonder if it’s yet another sign of the climate shifting. On most models I’ve seen, Omaha is right on line dividing hotter and drier from hotter and wetter. The last 3 or 4 years, we’ve been consistently (much) wetter.

Congratulations on finishing that fence, Q! Is there some way you can just go outside and bask in that accomplishment for a little bit? Maybe with a cold glass of iced tea and a camera?

I’ve been following in Trilby Lark’s footsteps and starting a massive decluttering project. I want my life to be lighter. I figure that visually lightening the space around me will help. Plus, accomplishing discrete tasks is pretty satisfying. I cleaned off one of my bookshelves yesterday, donating almost 30 books to our public library. I’d been carrying some of those books around since 1990. Time to let go, for Pete’s sake.

I’m wearing my Hawaiian Tropic fragrance this morning: Agonist Vanilla Marble. It’s stupidly hot and humid here today. The LOW today is 76. The dew point is 70. Ugh.

Q, yes that does sound like one l'd enjoy.

l think the flower is valerian? l have the pinky-red variety in my garden, & that's one that the hawk moths seem to enjoy. The first time l saw these moths was in Greece, & l was convinced they were little hummingbirds.

    staticx, happy birthday!

    Jon, beautiful pictures as always.

ineespenes, I haven't tried Crystal Noir, I always found the bottles of that series a bit not of my taste, but have looked up the notes and it seems like something I would enjoy wearing, too. I'll definitely try it out someday to see if I might like it.

I am back from music festival - I had really great time here - but I'm feeling tired beyond my own belief. I already took a several hour nap after I showered, but it seems like I need another one - or just to go to bed early. Luckily I was smart enough to take a day off on Monday, too, as I'm really too lazy to do any unpacking, washing, cleaning, vacuuming or anything productive today - hoping to do all the chores tomorrow, so all my camping gear can rest on the floor undisturbed until then.
Wearing a very light dose of Lait et chocolat by Chabaud - I wanted something super cozy, creamy and gourmand today.

I think it is valerian too. It seems to be a magnet for bees and we also get tortoiseshell and peacock butterflies in abundance.
