From your list OP I would choose Opium Pour Homme.

But overall best male oriental for me would have to be between Musc Ravageur and L'Air du Desert Marocain.

I like almost all the scents listed from all the posters, but Chergui most masculine ?
That seems to be bordering on delusional...
If heritage can be classed as an oriental it gets my vote.

There is no singular best oriental IMO. But Sultan Pasha Aurum d’Angkhor comes very close.

But if you’re into Neanderthal man’s orientals, I suppose you could do a lot worse than MFK Absolue Pour Le Soir.

Equipage, the older the better, probably. Yet Puredistance M, as an arguable oriental take on Bel Ami, would be a real close second. So close. It'd be a photo-finish.

L'Air du Desert Marocain for me. Chergui is also great, but it turns sour on me 50% of the time. I do get lots of complements on it though.

Out of these, vintage Habit Rouge EdT for me.

I was just thinking about orientals the other day. The best ones seem to have a fresh/sharp element to contrast with the softer, sweeter ambery/vanillic notes.

In those marketed to men only, Egoiste.

But of course pretty much all orientals, whomever they are marketed to, make good masculines in the traditional sense.

    Designer, among others:

seconding especially Opium pour Homme EDP (but any concentration/version, including summer limited editions might do) and Chanel Egoiste, while also adding the now discontinued Escada pour Homme (if spicy-boozy almost gourmand takes on Oriental themes reached a pinnacle of craftiness and masculinity, this one can be a likely choice)

Niche: seconding again the house of Lutens, especially Chergui while adding Ambre Sultan, while adding at least one of the oud themed fragrances by Memo Paris, the male/unisex choices by Amouge in general, certain Oriental fragrances from the Shooting Stars range by Xerjoff, Songe d'un Bois d'Ete as an exclusive, non-regular option from a traditional fragrance house, again to name only a few

I love oriental fragrances and my favourite is Absolue pour le soir.

With Musc Ravageur relying so heavily on Musc and animalic notes, and with LDDM having such dry notes befitting the name., I have to disagree as I do not know if they are truly traditional orientals.

Straight-up I'd say good ol' Shulton Old Spice (1937) keeps this one, but if doing a hybrid, Avon Black Suede (1980) is my favorite oriental leather chypre, and Creed Bois du Portugal (1987) is a masterful semi-oriental fougère. Moving into hairier realms, I'd take Jubilation XXV (2005), but if you really want to go full-niche, L'Air du Desert Marocain (2005) is also up there.

I consider oud it's own thing so I didn't include any.
oh look, I have a signature
