Default Be wearing cologne all my life, I just started on collecting..

I've been wearing cologne all my life, I started with Perrier Cardin in the early 80s aswell with English Leather and Halston Z-14, later in late 80s it was Fahrenhiet, Eternity, Cool Water , I was entering high school at that time , and Mediterranean for him , I always wanted to smell good like my father it was cool, I've always gotten cologne for gifts as a kid and growing up, then came the love of my life Tsar Van Cleef , I wore for like 5 years str8 aswell with Aramis for men, I never seen how classy cologne was back then, the history the smell alone how important it is to know what u wearing, recently I've been collecting classic, I got Tsar de Van cleef, (1st and 3rd formuation) Eau du Tsar, Polo Ralph Lauren , Safari Ralph lauren, Aramis for men, Burberry London, Paco Rabanne pour homme, Burberry Touch, Zino Davidoff , Dunhill Desire red , Dunhill for men (1934) Eternity, Fahrenheit, Kouros , Santos de Cartier...I want more of course Looking for Gucci Envy , and I'm thinking of more to get, but neways, since I started being on the site I've learned a great deal about frangraces the history of it just thinking someone in 1934 was wearing the cologne I have now , I know it been differences done but still the smell is familiar, Basenote is the best site for all the info on your favorites.just wanna say thank you, it's becoming a hobby almost for me as I'm hitting the 40s all like to do lift weights lol I decided to get into something differ and start up a collection, I learn how u can wear a cologne on a certain day and season..awesome , well I know I sound corny but I'm proud to be one of the guys who takes his colognes pretty serious ..I have a goood day

Ah, the classics. Good selection! Are you buying vintage bottles, or newer ones?

    Welcome!

Impressed and admiring your extensive lineup and strong appreciation for classics.

Would personally even consider sticking with and recommend to focus mainly on the ones mentioned in the thread starting post even more so that the majority of these, perhaps with the exception of Gucci Envy, provide inexpensively and thus with good value for money an inspirational sense of timeless masculine stylishness.

I'm definitely buying vinatges and newer formulas, I like to side by side them some of them are different like my Fahrenheit, the longitvity is not good , I mean yeah 3-4hours the max love smell, but back in the days , it will last me along time , like all day

Yes some of the ones you mention especially Aramis Tabacoo, Havana, Devin , 900, something about Aramis is amazing , I mean this stuff u put on just 3 sprays , and it's loud and obnoxious, I love it I recently just got the vinatge bottle of Halston Z-14 , I love it , I'm the hunt for the 1-12 both old and new I'm also waiting on a vinatge of zino davidoff , the cursive fonts not the printed fonts , I've learned so much on Basenotes I love it on here, Azzaro pour homme is next on the list new or old, Chanel por monsieur is also on my list it is a shame the Oakmoss is off limits for the cologne now that Oakmoss is what made it happen, like when I compare Tsar de Van cleef to the 3rd formula , it does almost smell alike but it's missing that oakmoss, now for the ribbed bottle, I remember being too much synthetic like idk what they did to it , but still I'm also considering buying it , it still smell good but not like 1st and 3rd versions

I'm very interested in Paco Rabanne Vinatge I know there is 6 version , thank u Basenotes for the knowledge, I have the 6th version I like alot , now for a decent price I believe might be the 3rd version, it's not the green box it tan and gray and believe the bottle is tan or brown, , I wanna buy my father Santos de Cartier vinatag or maybe the new version , I still believe it will smell good like it did years ago I must admit , I don't really like Vince Camuto , I mean I like it and I don't I blind buy the bottle thinking it was Vince Camuto Virtu , at first I didn't realize there was a differ version until I found out , but tonight , me and my wife gonna walk the new englend shore line , the beach is beautiful, it's not South Beach Miami but still it's really nice at night , and I'm fighting my self what to wear lol I'm thinking Eau Du Tsar Van cleef Arpels or Dunhill Desire red or Burberry touch ,I'm learning what to wear , in the heat , I don't think Aramis is a good cologne to wear also Burberry London is a beautiful cologne very very well done, but not good for this heat I can imagine it will perform lovely for the fall and winter I might go with Eau du Tsar I like it alot but compared to the big brother Tsar de van cleef, if u guys don't know about this cologne , it's a must get, I just bought a 2pc set shaving balm 5oz and 100ml Tsar de van cleef the original bottle , for a fair price I was so stupid not buying them when it was cheap, if u guys like polo, or paco rabanne or qourums , then u will love it, what u guys think of kouros body the gray bottle I never tried it
