Try Invictus Aqua. I think you will like it. It’s fresh and smells great. Perfect for someone who is 16.

Welcome, sir! Did you like Versace Pour Homme? Want something similar? Something different? The One is decent, but you should go for the eau de parfum, not the eau de toilette.
Either way, I recommend for you Blue De Chanel Eau de Parfum, Yves Saint Laurent L'Homme, and LaNuit. You also would probably like Armani Aqua Di Gio Profumo.

Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. The performance is subtle, more subtle than Versace Pour Homme, but it lasts and has great moments. It's not too big of a change from what you had going.

D&G the One - I liked it at first, but somehow it turned on me. I liked the opening, but later in the wearing I wouldn't like it. Also, it's totally different. Still, I liked it enough to have a bottle and wear it 20 times before I moved on.

The ones I suggested are not summer type fragrances, but can be worn in most seasons.

If you stick with online retail, you can get these for just a little above that pricepoint. Probably not the Chanel but the others, you can.

Versace Dylan Blue maxaroma.com has it for under $50 and offers free shipping you usually have it in under a week.

They also have Invictus Aqua for $61 free shipping!

Guerlain Ideal Cologne (white top) is well under $50 and a great fresh fragrance.

$59 on eBay still a better price than retail!

With five sprays of The One (EDP), I get 8+ hours of longevity and great projection. It's actually one of my better performing fragrances. If you want something with better performance, then Azzaro Wanted is quite the beast, and it's cheap. Armani Stronger with You has pretty excellent performance as well.

Try Hanae Mori HM EDT or CK One Shock for Men.

They're cheap enough that you could actually get both of them! They're both youthful, well-made, and distinct, and neither of them qualify as a standard-issue summer "freshie."

On fragrancenet.com, I'm seeing things like Mont Blanc Legend, Acqua di Gio, Burberry London (if you want it be slightly more classic). It's easy to do for less than $50.

I bought mine for £34 posted. A good fragrance for the price and solid suggestion for OP. Could imagine it on a 16y/o.

D&G The One has such poor performance, I would not recommend it. It's good to see someone starting their fragrance journey at that age, I know one 16-year old that has well over 50 fragrances in his collection which is even more than I currently own!

    My advice is:

    1. Stay away from body sprays (Lynx/Axe etc.), it's actually cheaper for you to buy an edt/edp and you will smell much better.
    2. Don't be afraid to try new things, especially on your skin and not just smelling the cap or a paper strip. Get samples or decants if you can and test them for a few days and see what you like.
    3. Don't fall for hype/reviews. Scent is extremely subjective, like food, everyone has their own tastes and preferences. Find out what YOU like and go for it. Try to avoid blind-buying.

    Enjoy!

D&G The One is not only poor in performance (including the EdP version), but its composition is chaotic and the drydown smells cheap. I still have a bottle but I couldn't imagine rocking it as my second frag bottle.

if youre 16 and limited funds (of course) I would suggest go to Zara or Hollister and sample a few of their fragrances. They have some good stuff and really cheap. I would not go with any suggestion of adult fragrances (of adult prices , above).

Versace Eros has great performance, and is an alleged lady killer of sorts. I don't like it very much, but if you do it's a great choice. Le Male smells great but the performance is very poor at this point thanks to reformulations. I don't know about the others.

A lot of people like Eros, but it's very polarizing at the same time. The best thing you can do is to go somewhere (Macy's or some other department store with a good fragrance department) and smell them for yourself. Best of all options, if you can pull it off, is to get some samples so you can try them on your skin for at least a full day. Take your time experimenting, there's no need to rush. Remember that how a fragrance smells on test paper will not necessarily be the way it smells on you, since skin chemistry is different from person to person.

I like Versace Eros a LOT and I'm twice your age. I just think it smells great, and it performs very well too. Its versatile and works well in all kinds of weather.
D & G The One EDP is one of my favorite fragrances, period, and I don't understand all the bitching about poor performance. It goes for a solid 6-8 hours for me and projects quite perfectly for at least half of that.
JPG Le Male was my signature scent for like two years, its a great scent but like others have said, has suffered from reformulation issues.

some other great suggestions here that you didnt mention that I would second,
CK One Shock is a beautiful, well made, versatile, and CHEAP fragrance. You can buy it by the gallon
Burberry London is a great scent, perfect for fall and winter, but I don't like it as much in warmer weather.
Montblanc Legend, Explorer, or Individual are all great choices for versatile, young, fresh fragrances that can be had for fairly cheap.

and one that I would add
Gianfranco Ferre L'uomo - can be had for ~$25 and is a very nice, well made, and versatile fragrance that could work well in a variety of situations.

D&G The One smells nice to me but does not last very long, Chanel Bleu was my preference by smell and performance and Versace Eros a close second.
