Default Best budget (under ~$50) leather?

What is your favorite leather fragrance available for around or under $50? I love birch tar/leather notes, but they don't seem to show up as often in cheaper frags, or if they do they are buried under a lot of other stuff or super synthetic smelling. I've sampled and enjoyed Santa Maria Novella Peau d'Espagne, TF Ombre Leather/Tuscan Leather, Fahrenheit, Nasomatto Duro, Jo Malone Bronze Wood & Leather, Gucci Guilty Absolute, and I've been curious about but haven't tried Dior's leather offerings and Hermes Bel Ami.

Is there anything that does for leather what Encre Noire does for vetiver? I.e., a nice, if not particularly nuanced take on straightforward leather, that's reasonably priced? I do like Demeter's Leather, although I'd like to find something with slightly better performance and some other notes to round it out.

I’m not into butch, old school leather but if you don’t mind a fresh, modern take then this is a bang for your bucks.

Aramis Modern Leather has been on my radar for a while, although I've read mixed things. Wish I could find somewhere to test it.

Knize Ten is another on my to-try list, although I haven't seen it anywhere for under $50. Definitely a classic that I need to get my nose on either way! I suppose if nothing else I could find a decant for cheaper.

    While you can get it...

Or Black. A fougere styled leather. Not as scary as people make it out to be.
I think its a bit leathery, but at that price range its hard to recommend something more focused on leather.

    Avon Leather (1966)
Aftershave, Cologne, or All-Purpose Lotion. All 3 are very butch leathers and very high-quality way under $50, and also very vintage! Look for a boot-shaped bottle if you want the original release, but it was made into the 70's. It's something I'd say every leather fan regardless of budget should sniff!

The Bvlgari sounds like a good option. I h

Luckily I already have a bottle of Or Black, which I definitely like.

@Zealot Crusader that sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for, and your Avon proselytizing has made me curious for a while now!

@Hednic the Molinard sounds like a good option - found a bottle for $46 on FragranceX so that's definitely in my budget.

I see a vintage thin script bottle on ebay, 30ml for $33.

Moschino Pour Homme would be a good choice if you decide to spend $60 instead of $50 or less.

You can find this online for around $50, which is a bargain if you're into stuff like this. Albeit, more a woody-leather than strictly a leather.

I have a bottle of this and love it. Need to buy a backup as I'm already halfway through my current bottle.

The Fendi and Varvatos look interesting. Versace L'Homme seems like a reasonably priced choice. I'll have to look into the Moschino as well.

Seems like this is the way to go for really nice leather accords. I have Fahrenheit, Bottega Veneta PH, Gucci Guilty Absolute and a decant of Tuscan Leather. I definitely plan on picking up more decants but was hoping there might be some anomalous cheapie find.

Attar Al Ghutra and Shumoukh Al Ghutra from Swiss Arabian are a little out of that range but might be worth a look. Check their main website for promos. I think you can get one or both starting at $55 with the current promotion. I've never tried to contact them to ask for samples, but that might also be worth a try.

I came here to suggest this one, so I'm just seconding hednic's opinion here. Really enjoyed it. It's on the unisex side, warm and slightly spicy, has a bit of pleasant sweetness to it - but not too much.

Cheap and good only go together in the same sentence with leather accords if we're talking vintage, because better materials were available at lower costs then. Stuff like vintage English Leather, Avon Leather, and Cabochard is glorious. Never going to see that from modern designers now. Everything is that weird suede ambroxan note like in Coach for Men.
